I don't really want the expense or faff of suspension so a non-suspension corrected 29er would be perfect.
As @tilover said, there's no real disadvantage to a suspension-corrected 29er, unless perhaps you want low bars on a XXXXXS frame size? All you're really doing is limiting the choice of nice XC frames that are available to you, as the majority of 29ers will be designed to use suspension, or a rigid fork around 470mm a-c.

Raced last year, got 10th in the fatbike category. Will be entering later.
Currently 65%.

You're probably right, I've been sucked in by Genesis' marketing for the Fortitude somewhat. Still, aesthetically I prefer the look of non-suspension corrected geometry.

I wish I had any chance of affording that, it's awesome.

I wish I didn't have to sell it, but, TD is proving very expensive.

It's sped up my decision to make it a drop bar single speed monster. The full sus is being recommissioned sooner than expected.

what's the skinny on dropper posts? anything else to consider apart from the reverb?
-

Thomson, specialized, Gravity dropper and a few others are worth looking at too.
Depends on setback, seat post size and do you want stages of drop or infnite adjustment.
They all appear to work but all can break too. MTBR reviews show some be happy owners of each type and some v frustrated owners too.

All dropper posts are shit. I've had my reverb replaced twice under warranty, both times it had done less that 150 miles. £250!
never again.

I have an x-fusion hilo 27.2 on my SS Inbred, it works flawlessly after 3 years, and one oil change/bleed done myself. £99 too.

Thomson are meant to be decent and Marzocchi are so late to market, that hopefully it'll be pretty decent.
My Reverbs been ok, despite my usual dislike for anything Rockshox, touch slow in this cold and it's not as smooth as my old KS (which broke) though. Can't complain for £108.

Just away to pick up a 2015 Genesis Core 10 for the missus tmrw, hoping she'll take to it and enjoy hitting the trails with me! She's not had a bike of her own since she was a kid.
