The TBT on bataleon boards is awesome, especially for stability at speed. I found it great instantly but a couple of mates who are used to short and twitchy park boards felt it was abit slow edge to edge (but that was in the snowdome on a park night) Also no fear of catching an edge even when chipping along an icy cat track. TBT is exclusive to bataleon (and lobster who are made by bataleon). The Jam is great if you're gonna be off piste abit more, Goliath is awesome for everything, or if you're gonna be in the park abit more have a look at the evil twin.

Brilliant, good info. Cheers @Dry
I rarely get into the park unless bad weather or just bored of a place so off piste and groomed is 95% of my riding. Will see about some demos of the Bataleon boards.
Last question - I take it the goliath would be better if I decided to get between the trees or on narrow twisty bits or find my self having to ride over the top of moguls etc.

Keep popping in here in the hope I will get away again at some point. (Kids ay!?)
Triple Base Technology seems to hark back to my heady boarding days on a Ride Timeless.
(Still got in the loft) Stiff as a monk in a nunnery. Fast as fuck too.
Bro has a Libtech Travis Rice that he seems pretty pleased with...

Been in Avoriaz, the snow was great for 3 the first 3 days then shit for the last 3.
The stash wasn't really built up so I hit the chappelle park a bit, not built very nicely at all because of the lack of snow so I mostly just cruised the pistes, fun holiday all in.

Doesn't look too bad at all snow wise from that picture. I heard France had a pretty rubbish start to the season snow wise so atleast you wasn't riding on grass. I think I'll be heading to Avoriaz late March to work on my sun tan.

New Years rush meant that fresh snow got scrubbed away pretty quick, the park had loads of dirt and most of the pistes had rock showing by the end.

Stay safe out there kids, I just got buried up to my neck in an avalanche, massive reality check for me. Really lucky to be uninjured and only lost my poles. Gonna head straight out and buy me an ABS (although I'm not sure what the situation is with buying them now seeing as they all just been recalled...).
Hands down the most pant-wettingly terrifying experience of my life. Was just boot packing up a face (I think I was the third or 4th person to do it since last snow) heard a massive rumble and a crack appeared about 2m above me. Just had time to shout up to my buddy and was swept about 100m down the face. All that was above the snow when it settled was my head and the tips of my skis which were somehow still attached to my backpack.
Absolutely no chance I would have had time to get one of those Avalung jobbies in my mouth, would have had just enough time to grab a ABS lever though I reckon.
Anyway, hope you all have fun filled, safe trips this season. Happy shredding.

Terrifying.
What was the avy risk that day?I was in cham about 4 years ago and came across a piste that had avalanched. It was a section of a blue run that simply came away from the ground, full depth to the grass/rock underneath. About a meter deep and 20m wide. How no one was caught was incredible. Weather was warm but avy risk was supposedly only 2.

No my God. Jammier than an 80's rock band fronted by Paul Weller in a conserve factory.
Look at that forecast!
Nice, the Goliath sounds about right.
But "the Jam" is talking to me more. Stiff, poppy, fast... yesssss. The Goliath or the Omni might be a better bet for my abilities though.
By the sounds of it, board design is a lot more refined now... seems like the trade off of twitchy high speed handling or fast edge to edge doesn't exist so much anymore?
