  • Any driving instructor can people recommend in South London? I live in camberwell so I guess it'd have to be someone fairly nearby? Or does it??

And what is the rough total cost for getting a driving license these days, presuming I'd pass the 1st time (hopeful thinking...)??

  • Anyone know of a good car mechanic around Herne Hill way who can deal with an old (1998) Vauxhall Astra with a lit Engine Electronics Warning light? You need a specific machine to get the code and diagnose the fault.

  • 6 lap race, 200 meter velodrome, 50t front, Any advise on the cog size?

  • A 16 probably. 50x15 would be too tall.

  • I'm not sure, with a 52t front I used 16t for longer races and training and 15t for team pursuit and Keirin.

  • Thanks guys, just got told the race got cancelled :(

  • At Herne Hill? There's quite a difference between a 440 metre track and a 200 metre track.

  • No, in the Netherlands. At a six days event.

  • No, I meant had @tommmmmmm been using that gear at Herne Hill. A good gear on a long, open track like HH is different than on a tight 200 metre track. Generally you'd gear down the shorter (and tighter) the track.

  • When I ride on a track it's at a 250m track, but that's an hour and a half with car (it's the closest to my home for the next two years) so I can't do that very often. Also been too long due to two knee surgery's (both knees woohoo).

    Thanks guys :)

  • How wide can I expect 2.35" Schwalbe Kojaks to come out on 47mm wide rims?

  • Dear forum,

Rear 6800 quick releases come in two sizes. It will be going on my LOOK with a OLN of 130mm with Hope Pro 3's. 140mm (168mm) or 140mm (163mm). Which ones do I need?

    Love

  • My guess is about 63mm

  • Stick with the Shimano one that come with the hubs, they're pretty much the best you can go for.

  • How thick are the dropouts?

  • @edscoble didn't get any with the hubs Ed.

  • pure guess, 168mm f0r 135OLN, 163mm for 130OLN

  • 6 or 7mm each side @mdcc_tester

  • The 163mm should be long enough, the 168 is for super-chunky dropouts.

  • Very helpful as always. Thanks everyone.

  • pure guess, 168mm f0r 135OLN, 163mm for 130OLN

Standard 135mm OLN QRs are 168mm, there is a 173mm option for fat dropouts.

  • Would that be the deviant offspring of @hippy and @dropout ?

  • Can ask around for you.

  • Err no you don't, can be read with a paperclip.

PM me to chat about it, sort it.

  • What 36h 135mm spaced hubs come in silver, purple or pink, are under £100 and can be run SS reliably?
