I changed to 1x10 and now found a great deal on a set of 11 speed shifters with a broken left shifter. I don't really have the cash at the moment but €40 for 11 speed Chorus shifters is ridiculous. Would I be able to run them with a 10 speed derailleur (centaur) for the time being or is there a difference in indexing?
sale fell through, never mind.

I like it. Agree brown saddle and tape must go, grand prix classics are a good choice though.

Bob now up in winter training / accreditation mode, got vittorias to put on for the track. Weighs 8.5kg as is.
Rear wheel is a brick, but it's only for winter. Will look at a set of shallow rim tubs in spring to race on.

Nearly there with this, I just want some more blingy levers. Modolo pro would be great to go with the callipers, but they're rarely cheap/available.
Also some minor changes to this, but reposting because I love it so much (even with the ahead converter)

What are people's thoughts on ahead converters? I could do with some wider bars on my winter bike, I know they aren't pretty but nor is the bike!

What do people know about the 80s Specialized components (as featured on the Don Brooks)? I know the stems are Nitto, but I also have the bars, cranks and hubs. I have a feeling cranks are Sugino, rebranded mighty possibly, and hubs are Suntour.

I add the same vento 602 and its ride was more fun then my current look KG243!
Even if it's only CrMo, I think that for a larger chap, expensive steel is not always the solution. -

I use a converter on a bike I run. At the time, I was experiencing a bit of lower back pain. I flipped the stem to give me a more elevated position on the bike. Result - decreased back pain! I'm old enough to value comfort.
Try and obtain a 3t or cinelli 25.8/26.0 stem to fit the converter. Generally speaking these are slimmer, more muted and crucially do not detract too much from the aesthetic appearance od skinny tubed steel frames.
I would have no objection to using the same set up again -it works. -

Fitted VO-fenders to the missus fixed-mixte.
Still needs some fiddling, additional clip for the chainstay bridge (not drilled) and better pic
I need booze...
I don´t like fenders... -

Mudguards (as they are called in the UK) can be fiddly .. lovely build! What front brake is that? Dia compe?
@miro_o It was a joke.
Mash always slated for shit welds on here. Even doe Nicolai Maschinenbau would be proud.
