Setting up centerpull is easier, especially when you don't need to run a certain straddle height, high or low, it still be pretty powerful.
Cantilever is perfect for huge clearance, but can be tricky trying to make it powerful (varies on different cantis though).

Tall headtube is tall!

Are those PDW cages any good?

Hah, could've asked me to sell you that tyres.
Quite impress with it, roll very nicely on the road with enough traction off road.
The Vee Rubber Speedster 27.5 1.95 would be the perfect tyres (and folding too).

Sadly I think there needs to be more mud clearance. You could fit 1.75" tyres.

Seems to work well and looks interesting. A little bit heavier than the your standard cage.

Drop the pressure between 25-35psi and have some fun.

The amount of mud brought up into the guards seems to vary loads with different tyres.
Mud tyres or semi-slicks (like those Vees) shouldn't carry too much mud but the in-between types (SmallBlock8s etc) are a bit of a disaster.
I'm on mud tyres (RocketRons) for trails now.

These are Panaracer Comet hardpack tyres so hopeful they won't drag up too much crap.
Will report back next week.

did they run out of headtubes in Taiwan?
this is getting ridiculous, first the Surly Straggler and now this: -

that VO frameset would be amazing if it wasnt for that headtube.

Wheels look tiny.. 26?

I think those are 2.29 feet wheels.

Never understood the necessity of that second top tube.

Me neither.
Strength for large sizes? Strength when using shit tubes? SWAG?
Mine are more powerful and with more rim clearance than the best (non-hydro) caliper brakes I've tried. If you don't need the clearance (road use) you can run the pads close to the rims and they're very powerful.
They're still fairly useless in situations you'd usually choose a mtb.
Setting them up is relatively fiddly, but I didn't find it difficult.
