Hey kids, want to look like a budget Robocop?

You don't need a tin foil hat to see the hand of the car industry in that. Might as well change the domain name to whywontyoufuckinghippiesjustleaseahyundaialready.com

Always wanted to look like a Cyberman whilst cycling.

Without accountability, there is no respononsibility. Smart Hat allows a license sign to be attached, identifying the rider to other road users, pedestrians & authorities. Registation is a method for riders to show their riding skills, insure themselves & third parties and welcomed as a responsible user of road & pedestrian environments.
Pick a tense, any tense.

For some reason all I can think of is the phrase "fully experienced rambling hiker"

SAFE Smart Hat provides the rider with ultimate safety & comfort.
Well, that's a law suit waiting to happen.

I met Sue Abbott today, had a drink with her. What an amazing woman:

The interview with the Australian mp on that link is chilling. He actually says about cyclists "we don't care if they insist on their right to kill themselves"

(Despite what some people here think of cycling in London), Sue Abbott, after riding with me in rush hour from Parliament Square to kings Cross, was amazed at how considerate drivers here are. She said that the abuse, punishment passes, etc that she experiences all over Sidney is constant and extreme. we rode 2-abreast a lot of the way and apart from some tutts from some people on bikes (you on here Sky-team full kit wnkr?), no one seemed bothered. We are doing well in London, she said, years ahead of oz

IME, most commuting London drivers aren't bad at all because they know that their journey takes about the same time every time unless there's a major accident, and that cyclists don't really affect their journey times.
Working London drivers (deliveries, taxis, etc even some bus drivers) are far less tolerant.
Non-regular London drivers are also bad as they often don't know where they are going, which lane to be in, etc so they (choose to) have less time for other road users.
The route you take makes a huge difference too. I have a relatively calm commute as there are minimal turnings/junctions off to the left and so reduced conflict.

Good point, and Sue said that in Sidney, drivers seem to blame cyclists for delays, (despite the fact that they're mostly stuck behind other drivers so are causing their own delays)
Working London drivers (deliveries, taxis, etc even some bus drivers)
are far less tolerant.Indeed, in fact recently TfL found that London Taxis, Black cabs and private are the most dangerous vehicles on the road (See their recently published Cycle Safety Action Plan for the details (p14)

I don't really believe in assigning blame to any class of road user, but if I'd have to say whose driving I notice the most in a negative way, it tends to be delivery drivers in estate cars (or are they called minivans?). Very occasionally a taxi driver, but far outweighed by the many positive experiences with taxi drivers. If you want to be treated like a human being, make sure you know what goes on around you, and show drivers behind you your face. If you smile and communicate, you'll get very little aggro.

• #6146
Depends on how you smile and what you communicate!

• #6147
I wouldn't advise riding like snottyotter, yes.

Non-regular London drivers.
I'd also said that they're not used to the sudden number of people cycling, and reacted accordingly too.

I'd hate to cycle in Sydney. Most of the #howmanypoints type media seems to come from oz.

@skydancer Why do you keep spelling Sydney as "Sidney"?
It is a horrible place to ride though. Every time I go back there and try and use my bike like I do in London I'm shocked at how unfriendly a place it is.
The roads are faster, most drivers seem intent on speeding, lane changing, hard acceleration and braking as much as possible. I used to commute from Manly to Paddington (the Sydney version) by bike and it was a proper gamble every day. Helmet legislation is really the least of their problems.
