So I got a tank from rewoolution http://store.rewoolution.it/en/
It's really nice and smooth, kinda like well spun cotton, which is one of their selling points.vs
Not that much stretch in it so guess that's good for a base.
It's nice and quite pricey.
($200EUR for a hoodie?!?!)Anyone else got some of their stuff? I'd like to dabble more into their range, but only if on sale.

Has anyone tried the Uniqlo HeatTech stuff as a base layer or under a jacket?>
agree with the other comments. great for city riding, anything with not too much sweating. i've not found it the best for long training rides.
that said i wear it virtually every day for kicking around the house in or as a vest type thang under a shirt/polo to keep my little weak frame warm in winter. great value too.

Will probably give the mons royale stuff a go. I've used the nike pro combat gear when skiing with no problems at all. Works well for the price IMO.

Uniqlo HeatTech long johns are amazing... not sold on the baselayer tees, not kept me anywhere near as warm as waffa merino

Can anyone recommend a merino balaclava that extends further down than most, like a dickie? Nothing I have stays tucked into my shirt collars.

Nabbed some of the Finisterre discounted merino base layers, very impressed.
Wouldn't go for Heat Tech for anything other than leggings (the tops are too cold once damp and they seem to make you sweat more).

good base layer tops for 10 at costco and bottoms for 5

Many thanks for that heads-up,
we're off to Watford Costco tomorrow,
I'll have a look at them. Are they branded,
or,
just the Costco in-house brand, 'Kirkland'? -

Merino base layers currently on sale at Mountain warehouse off the strand for only £25. Good deal I thought.

I saw this n'all. Does it seem decent quality? And what kind of weight wool is it?
-
• #1116
No they're not that posh, 20% polyester, quite lightweight. Still cheaper than the nasty all-synthetic crap you get at evans.

Rapha BS win hands down for cycling. I used my HH base layer today but it just wasn't the same and it was quite a bit warmer. Need to get myself a bundle, its the one area I send less money but probably one of the most important areas.

Any ideas for a merino balaclava that is long enough to cover your neck?

Regular balaclava + merino buff instead?

Rapha merino buff and beanie

I much prefer the planet X merino buff to the rapha ones.

I use a balaclava and toque combo when it's cold out; the above suggestions don't cut it at -35.

Where are you?

I would guess Mars

Canada, no?
Devolt baselayers are really great if you want a heavier weight.
