Not bad actually, I'll see what it's like when the mercury drops. -

I see. -35°c I can't even imagine. Doesn't your chain freeze solid?
-
• #1129
Didn't say I was riding in such weather, and that is at the extreme end of the scale - through December and January our averages are generally in the minus teens and twenties.
However, 20 years ago I was regularly riding through the winter and my chain wasn't freezing up then.

wow, amazed by this (!),
The Howies stuff is great as off bike wear, but it is utterly useless on the bike.
i wear a howies base-layer every day (light in summer, full-weight in winter) finding them pretty perfect for cycling-in,
must note finding the sizing a little odd of late though (e.g. a recently purchased merino base layer is size S, but still has plenty of space - consistent with miro_o's comments; where as size S used to fit very snugly; as for some merino long-johns, started with M, then L, now awaiting XL!! - despite having a 32" waist; at least returns are free!)

re. the Rapha winter merino base layer offering, would like to see more colours chaps (!), could be subtle (no need for garish bright pink), but being a man of colour, black/grey is pretty untempting pour moi (!),

This fecking forum is a major cause of over spending - between the trainer and selvedge thread...thats before we even start with the classifieds and bike porn
-
• #1139
Yeah don't... we're almost at that time of year where I remember I really need a new pair of skis too.
-
• #1140
Ski porn. Could do with some new boots as well. Only £390.
-
• #1141
Yep. Me too - not getting on with the toe box on my nordica boots. Lost 2 toenails in 2 trips :(
Also found myself looking longingly at Black Crows the other day.

Yeah,
Igot a couple of thesehttp://www.xtm.com.au/merino-zip-neck-top-224.html
last year from the Greenford branch and noticed they had a couple a week or so ago.
Do recommend. -

Wow, 5 months of silence.
Just picked up a pair of these from wiggle
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-short-sleeve-merino-polo/
Really good esp. for £21, the blue is a bit darker/less reflex-y IRL, which is nicer I think. Nice smart collar. Buttons seem really cheap but that's clutching at straws really. -

And another 7!
Cheep thick merino here. Very nice, and not pricey (~£20 for 230gsm)

Yep. It's good stuff. Stays same shape and size. Dosent smell after loads of runs like smelly helly longsleeves
yep, in the middle
