Chris King, apparently. Let me see if I can find it.
-
• #53
Hmm, not having a great deal of luck with finding it. This may require more study.

I don't think it exists :( hence my hesitation to go with them, closest I've thought of is hope pick n mix for the lower, giant bearing and special ring things inside a custom machined top cup.

Canyon bikes have 1 1/4 at the top and use acros headsets. External lower on 44mm is ugly as
hell, especially with rigid forks. Just take the parts you have now and smash them with a hammer.
Will save you a lot of money. -

here is someone doing it right
this is all kinds of wrong
-
• #57
lol.

However, I was wrong - Chris King don't do a 1 and 1/4" top, so we may have to go the conical headtube route.

whats wrong with 44mm

No headset available that will fit the fork.

• #62
Get Ted to turn you up a nice custom headtube.

• #63
or just give the fork a frame it deserves...

If Matt's previous work is anything to go by, it will and then some

The ever-helpful and deeply knowledgable Albi suggested using the top part of an FSA No. 51: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/fsa/no-51-semi-integrated-tapered-headset-ec060027 along with the external 1.5" of my choice - FSA, Hope, CK, etc.

I see a Talbot in my future. Living in the shadow of the mast makes me pine every time I see one being built. So hot right now.

Any of it your work? I saw a Talbot instagram of you playing frame builder....
-
• #73
Matt mitred the tubes, I've done (and am doing) the brazing.

Strong work!
What's the paint scheme? -
• #75
I've got some ideas for that - fancy having a crack at it?
Mainly the upper race, I don't know of any headsets that do 44mm headtube to 1 1/4 steerer?
