  • Cool, I have a big bottle of Stans, the tyres, just need rim tape and valves.

  • Will double check this evening - but I think they already have valves and tape..

  • That would be cracking

  • Got the fork, is nice.

  • Yup, cursory glance this morning before heading out showed tape and valves present.

  • Toobliss?

  • Dan was kind enough to take some photographs of the wheels - I've not seen these in person yet.

I've got fresh decals for both wheels, which should make them look much more of a pair.

Can anyone tell me what the front hub is set up for - doesn't look like a QR to me, but I'm quite possibly wrong.

  • Probably 15mm bolt through.

  • In which case I've wasted my money buying a kit to convert it to 15mm bolt-thru.

  • Might be 20mm, but doubt you'd have that on a 29er xc bike

  • argh - sorry, I thought you were buying the kit so you could use the 15mm bolt-thru... didn't realise you had purchased what was already on the wheel.

  • Here is a close up of the front hub if that helps, I didn't measure it but it looked about 15mm to me:

  • This seems to confirm that it would be 15mm: http://www.wheelbuilder.com/dt-swiss-axle-conversion-kits.html

  • That's the exact kit that I have, sitting brand new in it's bag. Ah well, good to have a spare I suppose.

I didn't actually realise how chillingly expensive the 180 carbon-ceramic hubs were.

  • An oversized, oversized stem?

    Are you keeping the colour?

  • Yep, 1 and 1/4th steerer, and no - it'll get painted.

  • Those TCX forks are very nice I have to say.

  • I could do with some help with regards to getting the front wheel to stay in place - what 15mm bolt-thru do I need, or will any of them do?

    How about this one: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/rockshox-maxle-lite/rp-prod54647

  • That's what I have on my 29er
    Works really well

  • Is that a cube stem?

  • Dammit will confirm but it looks like it .. Cube use Syntace finishing kit rebranded

  • You worked out what you're doing for headtube yet?

  • It's as Syntace, afraid I don't know if it's the same as Cube use.

Headtube- 44mm, inset upper race, external lower.
