The steerer tube on my bike has been extended, as a result I can only fit a small amount of quïill stem in the steerer
How shallow is safe for a quill stem?
I have maybe 7/8cm including the steel wedge, should I fear for my teeth?

Just turned auto archive on. I am afraid.

Quill stems should have a limit line, like seatposts do.

Never seen one without.

Rose have a sale on at the moment, don't know if they have any rims only but I'm fairly sure they have some wheels so you might be in luck. They don't normally charge much postage, it's definitely free after a point.

Stem has already been cut short so the minimum insertion is of no use now

@mk1mark got a 3ttt stem fresh from the box waiting for a bike to go into - min insert line is 70mm from bottom of bung. does that help?

Pretty vague this one, but hey.
What kind of salary would one need to earn to live (rent) in central-ish London and not be skint as fuck? Currently debt-free and with no dependents. Happy to house/flat share, would be looking to get around mainly by bike, and social life would hopefully revolve around diy (so inexpensive/free) gigs and cycling. Most of the people I know live North/East so I guess I’d be looking around there initially, but I’m not against the idea of living South per se. I realize location is a main factor and I don’t know exactly where I’d want to be as this would be dependent on job location (I said this was vague) but any thoughts would be welcome.

If you're gonna ride everywhere anyway, 10 miles is a nice distance from work, but with London's traffic light density, even 5 miles will take a while.

I scraped by on my industry experience year on 19k, but i paid no council tax and got other student benefits, so I'd say 22k if you're not looking to save a penny

Depends on rent/expected socialising behaviour really - my old flatmate survived on minimum wage (so £13.5k ish) for the last 4-5 years and I was on £16k at most during the same period... Rent (in Hackney) was £420/ month for me, less for him and most of our drinking was cans rather than pints.

I'm missing a little nut from my Royce Hubs, image attached.
I've contacted Royce for a replacement but they're £20 for a pair of those little nuts which seems more than a little steep, especially as I've been running spacers in place of it for 2 years with no problems. Does anyone know if anything cheaper will fit on the Royce hubs?
I'll probably just take it down to the local hardware store, but on the off chance someone knows then that'd be great

What happened to Leprosy? Is it still a thing? Did the milk bottle tops collected by blue peter when I was still in primary school help develop a cure? Does it have a cult following whilst the mainstream media is occupied with Ebola? Can I send my milk bottle tops anywhere to help anything? Is blue peter still on tele?

Nothing. Yes. No. Yes. No. Dunno.
Is that the same as "Enterprise Vault" or some other setting somewhere?
