  • Well thats dissapointing. The snow leopards are still ok though, right?

  • Hello dear multi experts of LFGSS.
    I'm using this stem:

I would like to drill it like that:

  • ... Also, I've noticed that there is a flat section inside the stem, just where drilling is needed, which might help.

Would this be a stupidly suicidal thing to do?

  • Why not just run a fork-mounted canti stop?

  • Because the forks are not drilled (mudguard mounts are to then underside of the crown) and ideally I'd like to keep it neat... But yes the option is considered.

  • Already had oversocks on! Luckily it's warmed up a bit so no need to create my own personal food sauna.

  • dunno. maybe ask in the berlin thread? many zhermans in there with possible first hand experience.

happy to help anyway. pop me message when time comes.

    p.s.: whivh rims?

  • Rodi VR-17, on sale for €8 each, so even with the postage they'd only be £25 for the pair.

Domestic postage is only €6, so sending them on should be cheaper. Expensive beers on me in London!

  • Can't decide if stupid or clever idea

  • Seatpost collars, is there a significant difference between 34.9 and 35 mm?

Am about to get a specialized dropper post for the fatbike. Specialized make a seatpost collar that has a loop to act as cable guide (for when the post goes up and down).

9zero7 state the frame needs a 34.9 seatpost collar, whereas the specialized collar is 35mm. Will the 35mm collar work?

No, that's within the range-taking required to accommodate frame manufacturing tolerances. With an M6 clamping screw, each full turn closes the gap by 1mm and reduces the diameter by 0.32mm

  • I assumed they were pretty much interchangeable, but that really clarifies it.

    Cheers

  • I would like to invest in a nice classic white shirt, budget £60-100, preferably lower end. Recommend me some brands please or should I just go to Selfridges/Liberty and browse?

Also I'd prefer a slightly thicker cotton due to tattoos. Ta

  • ^^ no kidding

  • Turnbull and Asser are the quality benchmark, but start at £165.

Better value are Charles Tyrwhitt, they have a big shop in Jermyn Street. They do a good range of fabrics (herringbone, twill or a weave would be thicker and be opaque ref. tattoos), cuts, collars and sleevelengths, all for £40 or less. TM Lewin are similar.

  • Looks like the disc mount on my fork isn't well aligned and a Shimano CX77 will not go on straight. The Avid BB5 mounting system seemed to be able to compensate for this with the cupped washers but the Shimano just bolts on.

    What are my options?

  • Any good inline brake cable adjusters, just noticed I won't have any running mini vs with drop levers.

  • Something like this:

SJSC have the Tektro version, but there are similar products from Jagwire, DiaCompe etc if you search for 'brake [noodle|lead pipe] with adjuster'

  • @mdcc_tester thanks, something like these came to mind but I have had them in the past and found them a bit crappy.

Will give the noodle ones a try.

Which plane are we talking about here - if the caliper is sitting at an angle when it's meant to be flat then you could get the disc mounts faced, but if the mounting holes are at an angle to where the disc wants to be then the only thing that springs to mind is slotting the bolt holes a little.

  • Will adding threadlock make threads less likely to strip?

I have stripped three hub threads over the years all with 12t cogs... For various reasons I still need 12t, but am hoping to mitigate the chances of striping another?

(The next option is going to involve searching for a cassette hub that's 120, does such a thing exist?)

    No.

Yes, but you need deep pockets. Profile Elite from $360 is available in 120mm

Shimano FH-MX71 at £200 is 112mm OLN but it could be spaced out to 120mm.

    Also Chris King at £300+

  • Anyone seen these Jagwire caliper shims for sale in UK?

  • Is there a 26mm equivalent to the shape of the Pro Vibe 7s round drop bar:

So something with a sharp bend in the top for straight hoods but with short drop and reach
