  • Not sure if you want it but remember that aerowarriors don't have a braking surface.

  • The velocity chukker is 25mm wide I think.

  • Halo aerotrack ?

  • It doesn't have a machined sidewall, but they do have a braking surface.

To be fair, they're a little vague on that, calipers brake is O.K. but V or Cantilever is a big fat no-no.

  • Didn't come across any 25.0 Ergo posts when looking did you? If I win the eBay auction I'm bidding on, I'll need one and they seem to be pretty rare

  • We need head light alignment like on the mot test :p

Perhaps some light manufacturers put notes in the manual that nobody reads to not do this?

All these gazillion lumen lights are nice, but the cycling equivalent of car full beam in the face :/

  • @B0N0R Aerotrack are 19mm wide, so the same as the cheaper P-X wheels

@IR - @edscoble is right (that sounds weird), they do say that they can be used with rim brakes even if they don't have an MSW.

I might still look for something cheaper though. Anyone with a beatery silver wheelset, feel free to hawk your wares this way.

In the meantime, On-One external bearing chainsets are back to £59.99 again.

  • Look like a hard wearing touring rims, good shout.

  • Updates on my Straggler build...

I now have the majority of the components at home and the final few bits on their way to me. I should be able to build up this weekend or next. :)

    I've opted for:

    • SRAM Rival 22 11-speed groupset (50/34; 11-32)
    • Novatec D771/D772 hubs to Pacenti CL25 rims
    • TRP Spyre disc brakes (w/ compressionless cables)
    • Salsa Cowbell bars w/ Lizard Skin tape
    • Easton E50 seatpost and stem
    • FSA Orbit X headset

Standard commuting mode will comprise of:

    • 35c Ribmo tyres
    • SKS Longboard mudguards
    • Soma Porteur rack

However, I plan to remove the above in favour of some >2" knobblies for the occasional bit of off-road fun. :)

  • dis gonna b good

  • Yeah man, I hope so!

I'm looking forward to having such a versatile bike. I'm looking forward to disc brakes and and also the SRAM 22/11-speed setup.

I miss cruising around on the ESB with it's 2.2" tyres, so the fact that I can switch between sensible and something similar on the Straggler is awesome.

  • They sell the rims for £18 each if you fancy trying to skip some labour costs.

I've build two 32h pairs up, one to XT M756 hubs, the other to Tensile Large Flange flip-flop hubs. Both builds were pretty easy and have stayed true-ish.

  • I herd Pacenti rims sucked?

  • They can't suck, @edscoble recommended me them.

  • all black everything yeah?

  • all black everything yeah?

Of course! Always all black everything.

With the exception, this time, of maybe a sparkly pink glitter-dreamy frame, maybe...

It was hard to find the Soma Porteur rack in black as they don't have them in the UK, however @pops managed to find one at a store in Germany.

  • I herd Pacenti rims sucked?

Their road rims sucked balls because they insist on following the 80's way of producing it, by making it uber thin and weak despite the impressive weight reduction (rims wear out quickly, and spoke bed developed crack).

Their MTB rims however, are sound.

  • SRAM Rival 22 11-speed groupset (50/34; 11-32)

Good call, hopefully the full hydraulic system will be cheaper in the next year or so.

Be wary of Lizard Skins by the way, they last as long as Pacenti's road rims.

  • Be wary of Lizard Skins by the way, they last as long as Pacenti's road rims.

That's interesting to know. I've had Lizard Skin tape on a few bar setups in the past and I've really enjoyed it, however I always swapped/sold bars/bikes before the tape had the chance to wear out.

  • Here is a cheap alternative that is pretty much same: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-professional-bar-tape/

Same padding as DSP, similar grippy-ness just different texture .. Its on my bike atm.

  • I did the very same, it get a tad annoying having black hand after a sweat day in the mountains, and the girlfriend worn her completely after a couple month of commuting in London.

The other that I find impressed me, is the Supacaz one, @Fox had bad experience of them, but they withstand some heavy touring in the Pyrenees yet still retain their stickiness, if only they made one in Fluro yellow.

  • Looks like a Rodi VR 17 8€ on cnc-bike

  • What are the forks on the pelago?
