All LBS near me only sell the folders, presumably because they bring in more profit and are easier to store.

Conti also tend to use cheaper compounds in their wire bead tyres than folding, though as TM says the difference probably isn't worth is for a tyre that's gonna be skidded.

Cheers, I'll have a look at those.
Anyone any experience of the Schwalbe Land Cruiser, look to get some decent reviews for the price.

Fitted a new Conti Grand Prix Classic and went for a ride yesterday. 3 Punctures in 100km! Is it bad luck or they're horrible?
-
• #1456
bad luck generally, or you've been riding too close to the kerbs.

Surprised to know that the Cerf Green is slightly heavier than the Extra Leger.

They are zombie apocalypse tyres. So great for bashing around off-road, CX sportives and generally using cross bike as mountain bikes.

I have had my Bontrager All Weather Hard Case for 3 years, they're not the lightest but they're solid, 25mm can take 200psi on my rims.

25mm can take 200psi on my rims.
Sounds comfy!

Who runs 200 psi tyres?

Idiots.

And those who like having their rim bashed.

25mm gp4000s come up about 28mm.
I am looking for comparable quality but actual 25mm tyres. Having some clearance issues.
Any suggestions? Thanks a lot

• #1469
That's quite a big jump, are you running wider rims? contis usually come up closer to the claimed size.

uh. repost.

Yeah I am running 25mm wide rims.
That explain it.
You can run 23mm tyres, but I would NOT advise the gp4000s 23mm on that rims width, the sidewall is much more exposed to the road due to the narrow contact point.

I see. Thanks a lot for the info.
Do you by chance have a suggestion for a fast and relatively resistant tyre that is more suitable for the width?
About 100grams? Also not sure if folders have higher tpi... You could check the specs..I would say for a tyre for skidding, not worth it.
