  • Not sure this counts as Brixton / Brixton borders but it is grim news that I feel I need to tell people

Bagel King on Walworth Road (yes the 24hr shop that sells delicious goat curry and the biggest portions of crumble you could ever wish for) seems to have closed. There are works going on in the shop and a poster outside advertising a new shop.

    :(

  • @Multi_Grooves will be mortified...

  • a bunch of us stopped in there after a pissy ride back from the lamb one night. gooood

i think festus was there. it was pissing with too

    csb

  • So I feel a bit guilty at eating at the new Wahaca. What can I say but that it's a wahaca....better than the derelict shit hole before it.

Also popped into the Trinity Arms for a couple after. Love that pub! Hadn't been for a couple of months

  • Ah, the pub that banned the forum for talking too loudly.

  • FUCK! The crumble run!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • I thought they'd have banned us for being part of the forum...

Did they really and how long ago was that?

  • First ever south's drinks was there. We were not allowed to return.

Starting to look like a wise decision on their behalf. It was to be a short lived institution, attended by misfits and miscreants.

  • Most racist pub in Brixton...

  • Or used to be anyway...

  • Not sure if it is the same owners as I haven't been in yet, but Bagel King has a fancy new sign up, a shiny refurb and seems to be back up and running.

  • oo will check it out on my way home tonight. When I went past at the weekend it looked like they had just painted the inside and moved the fridge unit to the other side of the room. Hopefully will still be the bagel king we all know and love.

  • Middle class question warning

Anyone know any carpet cleaning services in the area?

  • Was it dear?

  • Rent the machine from Morrisons.

  • you can hire a carpet cleaner from B&Q and do it yerself for a fraction of the price.
    /edit - ^ that

  • I was actually in Camberwell Morrisons earlier (rock and roll)- assumed they were only for sale. Any idea how much that costs?

  • Depends how long you want it for? £20-30 for a day or so?

  • Great. Thanks.

  • Dickmove by the management. Patently obvious that this is punishment for their recent strike action.

that said, the staff at the ritzy have a reputation for being a bit feckless and rude, possibly something to do with being paid a pittance and treated like shit by cunty management policies. Their OG 35mm projectors are far from reliable and are probably in dire need of an upgrade.

    vote with your feet.

  • I suspect it's a message to other picture house cinemas, more than anything else.

    Weak regardless.

  • Sucks about the projectionists but why do the comings and goings of staff at this establishment draw such focus for white middle class Brixton residents? Feels out of all proportion to me. Redundancies suck to be on the receiving end of but the inflamatory language used is... ah fuck it. You know what? I really can't be bothered debating anything on the internet any more. I can barely bring self to read any of the mainstream news sites let alone speak mah branes on their content.

  • Ok, TS et al. I relent, I've done my reading and come to the conclusion that The Ritzy management are aresholes.
