  • On Magicshine MJ808 clones, the bar clamp normally has a slotted knob that takes up the space in the cable-exit hole, and a screw (hidden by the padding) to secure it and prevent rotation.

It should be reasonably easy to replicate the knob-and-screw layout in a rack-mount-adapter, but you wouldn't be able to remove the light for theft-prevention.

  • Does anyone know of any alternatives for an attachment of Blackburn Super Flea. At the moment and as it is originally comes in a box it attaches with a velcro strap, which is super flimsy.

@dimi3 did you have any luck with this? I've lost the strap for mine and would like something a bit more secure.

  • No, still using old strap, which is on the way out.

  • Is anywhere noted for doing good deals on Exposure lights?

I can't justify shelling out for serious firepower when I can barely ride 50km at the moment.

  • I've got one of these. It's spare actually, I used it for a few night events but now sits unused. It's fiddly to set up but rock solid.

    These are good too.

  • What's a good headlight for road use that is self contained and last about 4 hours?

I'm not after a portable sun, or something that will last an entire nights journey. I also don't want to be blinding others (like so many seem to do). So I guess a good even and well spread beam.

Possible for under £100? I currently use a Lezyne Macro drive but it's beam is too focussed to be of any real use (and used to shut down in the cold).

  • If beam shape is important to you, scroll to the bottom of here, they have a pretty useful comparison tool.

  • brilliant, thanks

  • My Exposure Strada was misbehaving on the ride/swim home tonight and now won't turn off. I fear water has made its way inside somehow.

Its currently in a ziplock bag with rice...

  • Had my cree xml on full blast today and got a guy on his c90 scooter ask what it was so he could get one lol

  • I got one of those last winter. Small but powerful piece of kit I use on FNRttC.

  • A bit annoyed with my brand new Diablo yesterday. It turns out the TAP system, which lets you cycle through brightnesses with a tap to the light is utterly, utterly useless on the road. Every single minor bump in the road, it switches function, even on the least sensitive setting.

Although it's fine when you turn the TAP system off, it's this unpredictable cycling of functions that signalled the death of my last set of exposure lights.

I kind of feel like a complainy email, but christ knows about what. It's moderately dangerous, as the constant dimming/brightening could be a flash-through as far as traffic is concerned, but I dunno. I don't really want a refund, I just wish that they'd test their stuff even once before releasing it?

    Bug = Feature.

  • On the plus side, it's retina-searingly bright. Which is all I really wanted.

  • I'm thinking about getting a smaller Expsoure for the missus to replace my old Dinotte she's been using. It would also become a spare race light for me as it would fit the Exposure bracket. Only question is - which model? I was thinking cheapest - Joystick but wonder if for a little bit more dosh I should be looking at a Strada or Diablo or something? Any idea?

  • I bought a used Exposure Sirrius a couple of weeks ago - quite pleased with it.

Looks like I could have got a new one for not much more!:

  • This looks handy

@hippy if you're still after a 3-LED unit, have you considered Moon Gem 2.0 ? I've had one on my TT bike for a couple of years, seems OK. Not as good as the Comet (btw, the saddle rail mount that comes with the Comet is good, the rubber band is obviously useless especially if you have an aero seat post. The seat rail clamp is available as a spare part (RB-21) if you need to swap your light from bike to bike)

  • The Hope District+ now supports mounting on an aero seatpost

  • Ooh, new Hope batteries?

And the site that cannot be named currently has good deals on Lezyne. I was waiting on a Zecto rear coming from elsewhere, but am going to cancel that and get a Microdrive rear for about the same dorrah. Cheap deals on their fancy digital track pumps too.

  • Can you use their 'big' mounts with this?

  • Cheers
Any idea what the runtime is for it on constant?
I will probably be using a bottle mount out the back of the saddle so any light will be fitted to that. It's also an Adamo so most Saddle rail mounts are out.

  • The bolt-on, red-pin release ones? If so, yes. The bracket fits Equinox, Diablo, Axis, Joystick, Sirius and Spark.

  • Yeah, that one. Cool.

  • Any idea what the runtime is for it on constant?

No, nothing on the Moon site as it's discontinued, and I couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere else. Based on the apparent duty cycle and brightness of the two flashing modes, my guess is that the low-constant is the longest lasting mode, and the claim is 'up to 6h30m'

I suppose I could turn mine on sometime over the weekend and see if it's still shining after 6 hours if that would help.
