  • Nice article. I enjoyed it.

    Just one question;

    Dammit or Teenslain?

    Thanks man.

&my journalistic integrity would prevent me from saying. And the fact I don't know.

  • I like the sound of having a bachelor lifestyles.

    I think its a euph.

  • I like the sound of having a Batchelor's lifestyle.

    I think its a euph.

Sounds shit, like Pasta'n'Sauce every day.

    that's Dammit's isn't it?

I have to say I really like the dropouts. Very very Alien.

  • “Artists will talk about how if you spend time with an inanimate object you grow attached to it and it’s hard to let it go. I’m not saying I’m an artist of course. But that stainless steel bike I was looking at when you came in, that has another 16 hours of work in it and I’ve already put 100 hours into it. If you’ve ever stared at one piece of material for 100 hours… there’s definitely an attachment.”

Middle aged? Check... Bachelor lifestyle? Hmmm...

    Hi Suzie!

  • Nice bike!

  • hows my brazing? still needs a bit more cleaning up with 80 grit and a file.. would anyone buy something like this? 58 degree drop ISO quill stem, 25.4 clamp

  • Has anyone had a recent delivery, or placed an order with Ryan in the last few months? This thread is a few years old now, - looking for some recent feedback.

  • No but he's on my short list for a touring frame ATM so I'd also be interested

  • this thread is 6 months old not a few years dude

  • this thread is 6 months old not a few years dude

If I scroll back to page 1 the original post look like it was 6th December 2011, but yeah it's certainly been 'active' in the last 6 months :) fair point.

  • I've managed to trash the two-wheeled love of my life. It is finally looking like I'll manage to get some insurance money from the incident, which would justify repairing the frame, so I've sent an email to Oak.

Although this forum fills me with nothing but confidence in his ability, I am worried I'll be at the end of a long list of jobs. Are there any other trustworthy framebuilders around? Links to relevant forum threads appreciated (#n00b).

Photos aren't great quality, just taken on my mobile.

My bicycle from Oak. I'm a very, very happy customer.

If I can scrape together some more cash I might experiment with some drop bars, maybe some chrome or aluminium mudguards, and maybe a porteur rack. Potentially the cranks could do with upgrading. But... yeah cash.

My primary requirements given to Ryan were "make it so big no one else can ride it" (I'm 199cm), and also that I'd like an almost "dutch style upright ride". But really, it's completely his artistry.

  • Looks great- I remember Ryan talking about this, he was wondering about the seat tube as you needed one longer than any that Ryan knew of in production, looks like he solved that!

  • How tall are you? Or are they 650b wheels?

  • I assume you're not asking Dammit. jimhead says:

    I'm 199cm

  • Having ridden it for a few days now, my opinion of it is only going up and up. I tried to ride my old bicycle and that now just feels like a toy, or junk in comparison.

You can certainly accuse me of being bombastic, but I would simply say I'm extremely pleased.

  • I changed the cockpit on my Oak polo bike recently, so much better now, like sooooo much... She rides like a dream...

I'm pretty close to quitting polo and I can't wait to turn her into an extreme, fat-tyred, singlespeed, beater/commuter... New bike! Many fun times ahead...

  • Sounds like a rad bike @>>>>>>

    what's the tyre clearance?

  • Quitting polo? You mad bro?

  • Relax, he's only quitting polo, not brolo.

  • Massive... Ryan gave me clearance for 45s or something crazy... BANGIN"!!!!

    @everyoneelse Polo is lame...

  • Just saw Fox's new oak, bought on here for peanuts. It's dead nice.
