Let us know how you do on the 10 k.
What is about to follow is a shameless round up and context of a week in the lake district running I just completed.
Being as list's have bitten the dust now on lfgss this should also keep you happy.
Entrants for all 5 days events aged between under 10 and over 80=1820
17 different lengthed courses daily across all age groups.
My 5 course climbs plus getting to start of 2 mountain days= 2, 405 metres.
My course distances 52 k about 31 miles total.
My courses were number 1.
Out of 17 only for male 21-45 year olds. 75 guys in this group.
Final result 26/37 in m40 cat.
Bottom quarter of field.
Only 12 guys above me completed all 5 days without error, this means that I found while running 112 locations in some of the wildest terrain in the U.K, in some of the toughest conditions going.
Crap final result, however finishing despite double sprain yesterday up pike o blisco gives me immense satisfaction and looking over the maps still incredulous I did it given the technical nature of every day.
As you were. -

That's pretty awesome. Congrats!

Blimey, makes a fairly flat mixed trail/road 10k sound a bit dull now.
I scraped in under 37 minutes. I timed it at 36:59, awaiting the actual results.

I actually didn't last night.
Had a lovely burger though for proper post-race fueling.
Official results gave me a 37 dead. Shame really, always nicer to break the minute.

Cheers chaps. Rest day today might just go and ride some mtb trails in Grizedale ;)
37.00 a superb time for 10k which many distance club runners aspire to but dont make -

Back on the wagon after 2 weeks of no running, just a little lunchtime jog but it felt good. Only 4 weeks to go to the next half!

Yeah as is our Bournemouth friend Steve Ways success.
If youre over 40 you can still make some of you're best ever p.b's though, we dont have the explosivity of youth but we have
Endurance. In spades. Keep running -

I've eaten my bodyweight in Welsh Cakes daily this week ahead of RTT. Hoping this and the wisdom of recently read Askwith Running Free means I won't give too many cares about what happens other than running. Strava getting binned once and for all once I'm back home.
Euro Athletics has been ace to watch, holiday place has a telly which is novelty for us.

Dont forget-moar caffeine -

Here's an odd one- has anybody injured their ear running?
Went out last week for a long run, part way through realised my right ear was clicking quite a lot. Ever since then it's like somethings rattled loose- seems very unstable/ lots of clunking and clicking, 'burbling' whenever I touch my face, and now tinnitus (sp?).
Little bit worried. Have an appointment with a specialist booked, but still seems strange.

Yeah, that's not something I've ever come across...

Dont worry about it mate. Ive got 5 titanium screws and a metal plate on my skull, sometimes feels a bit wierd but headstands and other everyday activities are no problem.
Just see what the quacks say but if they force your eyes open with forceps like alex get worried -

13 miles off road this morning, all in zone 2 so very dull.

RTT = Race The Train
I did the morning 10k race which allows a journey on the train first to the start. The afternoon race is 14 miles and hard as nails, no train rides allowed.
Ran well, finished 11th and won an age cat prize, a nice surprise.

Will put it in the provisional diary for next year haha. Congrats on prize (and placing!)

Has this story been posted? Really inspirational
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/get-inspired/27994073
I realised the other day that despite running (and racing) for 6+ years I don't think I've ever done a 10k, or a road half. So tonight I'll be fixing the first half of that, and in two weeks the second half.
