At Manchester if you don't do one of their SQT sessions for 6 months then it's almost back to square one: you have to gain accreditation again. To race in Manchesters track league you do not need accreditation, you can ride them without, same as at the track masters competitions & such. Having accreditation is beneficial though, it gives you the skills, confidence & know how.
Currently if you are accredited at one track you are not automatically accredited on other tracks. From what I have heard they are working on this, & hopefully it will make it easier to get on SQTs at other velodromes across the UK.

You need to be a BC member for all UK track leagues. You can ride in SQT training sessions without it.
Cool then, I've registered at BC today so I hope by the time they start with the track league (september?) I can merge the accreditation to my BC membership.
But again, during the sessions all trainers were talking about joining track league after accreditation but nobody explained how it actually works, maybe is something that I should have known already, but I didn't.I really hope I won't have any issues when the league starts.

From the LV website:
Lee Valley VeloPark's four stage accreditation process is part of the UK Velodromes shared accreditation partnership. This means that if a rider has written proof of accreditation from one of the following venues it is also valid at the other venues:- * Cycle Derby Velodrome*
- * Lee Valley VeloPark*
- * National Cycling Centre Velodrome, Manchester*
- * Wales National Velodrome, Newport*
- * Cycle Derby Velodrome*

Mondays maybe, but I know a lot of folks who do not have accreditation & ride the track league on Fridays (MRTL) & have entered various other events. I guess it depends on the levels & who is organising the event.
I'm hoping soon that the velodromes will share a database of accredited riders so a bit of paper isn't required. I guess it takes time to put these things in place (we are only just getting online booking here at Manchester) & standardised across the velodromes.

Apparently accreditation will be added to your BC license.
Yes, I totally agree with you - the whole system is pain in the ass.
Why did I get certificate after completing stage 1 and nothing at all when completed all 4. -

If you are accreditted in Wales, just print screen the confirmation from your log-on details and then email it to LVVP with your membership number, it'll be updated and you'll be able to book.
Simple.

It would be nice to get some derny time at LVVP for speed work.
Has anyone heard of any plans?

In a taster session? That'd be pretty wild

no sense of adventure

Seriously though Paul, a derny is no good for what you want. A proper motorbike is the thing for sprint efforts.

Another Rolla through to Stage 2...........

To compete in any BC sanctioned event you need to be a BC member with a racing license or have a racing licence from another UCI body.
So to compete at any track league you will need to present your UCI license and your proof of accreditation (if the league is on one of 250m tracks).

paul1984, how did you get that UK accreditation stamp on your BC license?
When I passed my accreditation they said it would be associated with my Lee Valley membership number and I asked 'what about BC license' and they didn't know... -

Does anyone know how to find out your membership number from the website? Apparently, I need my membership number, and the website says that after applying for registration 'You will then be sent a confirmation email with a membership number that you can use to book your session online'. Well, I've got my confirmation email dated 23rd March 2014 right in front of me and it says diddly squat about a membership number.

Well, it doesn't seem that trying to call the Velopark by telephone is a worthwhile experience. Three times so far, and on each occasion it's gone through to voicemail after about 10 minutes on hold. Let's see if they answer e-mails.

What are the open sessions like at the velopark, when you just turn up and ride for as long as you want?
I'd like to smash around a reasonably technical loop and see what I can do, so ideally I don't want to be dodging loads of nodders. Does it tend to be really busy after work?

Do Lee Valley offer a 'all in one day' accreditation yet?
Looking at the accreditation stages, you could easily fit all of those drills into a 2 hour session, like the race accreditation at Herne Hill. Its a real pita to have to book 4 seperate dates instead of 1.
-
• #296
Yeah do they do, I think it's £80 for a Monday session though. Few of the Brixton cc lot did it one day accreditation
-
• #297
No, that's never happened. Incorrect.
Always 4 sessions. -
• #298
What Ho is referring to as I recall was they offered accreditation over four consecutive Mondays for £80.
-
• #299
Ah. Well.. it looks like I am doing mine at Newport now anyway.

Does anyone have any idea what sorts of locks are compatible with the Lee Valley bike storage hooks? I'm assuming a Fahg isn't going to work, and that I'll have to use a cable lock of some variety, but any advice would be welcome.
They'd moan about the price of everything and say our women are flat and our beer is ugly.
