  • The next installment in my journey through tracking

  • Spotter, you and me are gonna need to have a chat...

  • spotter x-pro1 pics look lovely so far

  • Here is one i took at Heathrow airport, Going back i wish the frame was 2 seconds earlier!!

  • ^ How come? Are you thinking the position of the fella on the phone?

If so I like him where he is :)

  • ya i think it could have been better.

  • I'd say that's perfect eaglerock, 2 seconds earlier and the man would be interfering with the barriers on the right or the left. Even though he's not dead centre, he's still centre of the shot by virtue of the sight lines caused by the environment. Really nice.

    Tell me more ;)

    Cheers!

  • Cause I wanna know how you're getting on with Fuji after using a Nikon...

  • Lets go for a drink and i'll bring it along for you to try

  • spotter - what made you choose the xpro1 over the xt1?
It is a great camera - I've had mine since roughly when you bought my G9 - but most of it's limitations have been ironed out in the xt1.

  • $$$

  • Exactly that ^ £750 for the body and the 18mm was just too good

  • oh, ok. What's the 18mm like? i've only got the 35, but it's an awesome lens!

  • nev have you got an x-t1?

  • Its a very nice little lens by all accounts, I'm having to get use to primes again (I loved my 16-85mm before), but i've always prefered to go wide so i'm happy with it

  • If I move to Fuji, the 10-24 is a must. Looks wicked.

  • I have to say though ben, the flash offerings from Fuji don't fill me with confidence, they look a bit cheap. I supose the joy of these cameras is that you can really get away without flash.

If you did need it I supose you could still use a pocket wizzard or even buy metz

  • The canon strobes work on Fuji (manual only) and any canon-fit third party flash should work fine, a la phottix, yongnuo etc.

Mind you, the sync speed is only 160th or something.

  • nev have you got an x-t1?

No, just the xpro1. I did go to a shop and try the xt1, but even though the EVF is very good, it's no comparison to an OVF.

    I'm generally really happy with the xpro1, but the things i'd change are;

    1. Slow autofocus
    2. shite battery life
    3. terrible filming options + no mic input.
    4. no intervalometer
    1. better manual focus (?)
    1. better manual focus (?)

    Yep that too!
The "focus by wire" of the 35mm is shite

  • although with a different lens (like an old leica) the focus peaking fuji added via a firmware update is quite good.

  • Still trying to get used to the fuji x100
