TrainingPeaks doesn't have a large enough scale to cater for my huge Watts.
Unfortunately the same applies to the KG one as well. #inbeforefat
My Kgs/watt scores are truly epic.

Sadly you cannot turn off auto-zero on the Fenix 2

When would you want to use the Fenix 2 on a bike rather than the Edge 800? I can see why you'd want to use the Fenix 2 when running or whatever, but if you're using the Powertap Track hub then wouldn't you be using the Edge instead?

Probably yes, but I'd like it to work anyway.
Hold that thought- I recorded the same ride using the Fenix and the 800 after work.

First TT with a power meter last night - fucked up my pacing but your ability to analyse your effort afterwards is just amazing. Can't believe I didn't get one sooner.

Isn't that a torch?

Not a terribly effective one, I still use my phone:
The red glow is quite pleasant though.

Anyone got a powertap battery cap tool (old kind) that I could borrow? Just bought Rusty's off here and it's got dead batteries. If not, is it easy enough to remove the cap with an inner tube & my massive arms? Apparently is, but I don't always trust bikeforums.net
Also, I assume it'll just work with my garmin 800. Do I need a cadence meter as well or is it just useful for #allthedata?
-
• #2286
My G3 outputs cadence as well as power- by magic, I can only assume.
-
• #2287
It's based on assumption there will be two obvious 'spikes' of power as each foot hits the down stroke. Easily confused if you can get power out all around the clock at lower cadences.

Bonkers. I have the cadence sensor from my garmin but those things are fugly. The ine I'm getting is in Elite+ from a few years ago. Possibly in need of new bearings but definitely in need of new batteries, and finding the tool is proving tough.

It's nine quid, you'll probably need it again if you keep the wheel.
-
• #2290
It's not in stock, it won't add to the cart. Wait, will try on laptop not ipad...
-
• #2291
If it doesn't work, I've got one like that you can borrow.
-
• #2292
Actually thinking about it I need one as well.
-
• #2293
It's out of stock but I've emailed. I've also ordered one from Winstanleys. It says it's out of stock so waiting for an email to tell me whether they can order one or not (guessing not).
I'm going to give it a shot with an innertube to add grip, which works apparently, and if not then I'll try and persuade someone to drop one in an envelope for me.

Paligap are the distributors..

Yeah, apparently Evans York are a distributor so might give them a ring tomorrow. It's a shame paligap won't sell directly (I assume).
-
• #2296
I wouldnt hold your breath on Winstanleys. They are famous for having an amazing catalog of bike parts that are never in Stock, wont come in any time soon, and for not telling customers.
Just a heads up.
-
• #2297
Thanks, gonna give them the 48 hours they said it'll take to contact me then cancel the order if not.
Will try contacting Paligap directly as well. You'd think there'd be tonnes of these knocking about, but none on eBay in this country.

Winstanleys have never, ever had the item I've ordered, but have happily taken my money at the point of order.
Their Modus Operandi is to then contact you via email saying your item isn't in stock, and would you like to wait an indeterminate length of time that may be coincident with Satan ice-skating to work? When you say "No, that's totally unreasonable, you terrible cunts" they refund your money in around three weeks.

You can borrow mine if you want Neil?

That would be great, thanks Dan.
