Spirited Wines (Nicholas as they used to be) Are having tasting sessions over the weekend. £15 for a session to taste lots of lovely wine and they give you a £15 voucher at the shop to spend (when sober)
It's practically free

I've been mildly obsessed with Gut Oggau wines for the past few months.
I bought a case each of the Atansius and the Theodora - but I have now seen the are sold out almost everywhere. Meaning I will have to take a trip to Austria to re-supply. Anyone else had the pleasure?
Whilst I'm here, is there anywhere that hosts a good wine tasting for a birthday present? thinking Ginger Pig butchery but for wine...?

Theatre of Wine on Junction Rd near Tufnell Park. Real nice, no pretence, much fun.

Need to buy some 'grape juice that burns' tomorrow morning for to give as a housewarming gift. Something that's likely to be available in a Sainsbury's. £20 limit. Never bought any in my life. Halp!

Not sure if I should be posting here - the LFGSS spam police might be after me.
I import my family Champagne in London. We are Champagne growers and make 15,000 bottles a year. Our vineyards are south facing in the Valee de la Marne and we produce high quality Pinot Meunier.
I could talk about it all day.
Here is our website with more details about our range:
All magnums and jeroboams come in wooden cases and look really smart - always a great gift. I also have gift bags for single bottles.
Cheers
Vince

Christmas emergency!
My sister has asked me to get a bottle for my dad as I'm down here in the big metropolitan winefug that is London's famous lufguss.
The two choices are either:
Radikon Pinot Grigio 2011 (from Friuli, Italy according to the wine list from a restaurant she photographed, but the internet seems to think it's from Slovenia)
or
Melias Papagiannakos 2010 (some kind of dessert wine from Greece)
I know next to fuck all about wine and it's probably too late to order online. In any case I can't seem to find either on an online shop.
Any idea where would be a good bet to find either of these in London before the 25th? I had a quick google of the big wine shops but most seem to specialise in French wine, AFAICT.
Any help appreciated.

for the first> http://terroirswinebar.com/ , although their wine list has the fruili venezia guilia only, they may have a handle on where to source the pinot
for the second > http://www.thegreeklarder.co.uk/contact/
hope you've got deep pockets for those two!

Thanks very much, I've emailed the Greek place! Terroirs is about a minute form my office so will pop by.

also, http://www.ottolenghi.co.uk/the-radikon-duo-shop , has a double bottle pack, with 2010 pinot grigio, worth a look
..and singly, of course > http://www.ottolenghi.co.uk/radikon-shop

Yeah I found the Ottolenghi one but couldn't find a guarantee of Xmas delivery, especially to my dad's house which is in the middle of nowhere, on an unnamed road no less! Might just chance it...
EDIT: says last day is today! I am 100% sure it won't get to him though :)

I had an orange sparkling wine from Sardinia (pretty sure it was Sardinia) in Terroirs about 18 months ago. I've been racking my brains trying to remember what it the style of wine was called.
Can anybody help please? It was effing delicious.

Mate, that was Fanta

• #169
If you say so. It does sound Italian.
-
• #170
Dinavolino is the only orange sparkly on their list currently
-
• #171
Not the one sadly. I had a note somewhere and it'll turn up when we move house I'm sure.
Just had a look at the Terroirs wine list again. It really is knockout. Maybe not my favourite place for French food but an incredible selection of wine.

np, and the lfgss rate for a case of six is..?
Stayed in Burgundy last week - had a look around Clos-Vougeot:
Theo was rather keen to explore the vineyards....
Vines looked pretty good to me, certainly around the Abbey, DRC and Grands-Eschezaux.
Didn't buy a great deal, as we were a bit short of space in the car with all of Theo's stuff. But picked up some reasonable deals on some Monthelie and Auxey-Durresses, a bit difficult to do tastings with a 16month old in tow...
Amazing food as ever in Burgundy too
