I need advice on Bartape.
I currently roll with the Fizik Microtex. Regular haven't tried the extra thick yet. I love the look and feel but these London roads are getting so bumpy the dampening just aint enough anymore.
Was looking into Cork tape as I have read that nothing gives as good a feel of dampening HOWEVER its pretty rubbish if it rains. It just gets soggy. Don't know if that is really the case.
Need you guys advice.
Fizik Extra thick Microtex or Cork. To be used in all conditions London.

^ Doesn't matter what bar tape you use but I always wrap the tops down to the brake levers with the old tape under the new.

Lizard skins, and a bigger volume, lower PSI, front tyre.
Nothing beats Lizard skins. I currently use the lightest, thinnest grade, and its still grippy, squishy loveliness.

beats everything for comfort, pricy but nice and if you unwrap it, stick it in the washing machine and put it back on it is as good as new.
I have used a roll for a bit over a year, and lots of cobble bashing, and it has some slight signs of wear, but it is lush. -

How do those hold up when it rains?
ESI GRIPS RCT SILICON ROAD BAR WRAP - BAR TAPE
Do they start to soak it up and become squishy?

Wrap em in some old inner tube before taping

• #60215
Inner tube? Really?

No jokes.

Spesh Roubaix bar tape. Not as fiddly to wrap as Fizik and not as rubbish as cork. Much cheaper than Fizik or Lizard Skins.
YMMV

Why do buses say 'not in service' instead of 'out of service'.
-
• #60219
Guess: Because the bus is techincally working, but not providing its designed service. Out of service makes it sound like it's been retired or broken down.

Because they aren't in service.

Does anyone have any recommendations for getting shot of an old car? We have a T registered Mondeo estate, about 110,000 miles on the clock, tatty and with a few faults (leaky power steering system, central locking that takes up to half an hour to unlock if it's cold) but could have another few years of useful life. We're getting something smaller and newer.
I've looked on those websites that advertise car recycling and they seem to be offering £130 on the basis that they'll collect, but I'd not be surprised if they changed their tune when they turn up and see the dented bumpers, the moss and the lichen.
Should I try advertising locally or is it safer and simpler to get it scrapped through one of those websites?

Letting agency question:
We've paid £310 'admin fees' and £200 'credit referencing fees' and supplied them with all the details theyve asked for.
They have now come back to me and asked for a letter from my employer stating how long I've worked there and my salary. How is this my job? They've been given my employers details and i've paid them £200, what the fuck are they doing for £200?
-
• #60223
Tell them you'll provide it in return for a refund on the admin fees, since you appear to be doing their work for them.

Where's good to eat a cheap lunch somewhere between Southwark and Borough? Not the market.

Try a local scrappy: you might get a bit more, being local; even more if you could tow it there.
as tight as you can get it without using your body weight on the tool.
