Buy them all > compare them
So there's a half-done film in the Mju-ll to test if it really is fucked,
and the Nikon is mos def fucked; already told the seller that he's a cunt, and ordered another one.So there will be a shootout between these compacts.. could take a while though as every camera need a dedicated film but the XA of course, and also the Nikon apparently leaves the leader out so film can be swapped, but I don't really believe this until I see it.

Just been given a May Fair box camera, exactly as this - http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/May_Fair_%28box%29
Anyone know anything about them or if its even worth attempting to get a roll of film through it? Seems to be working fine, bit dirty though...

Just got a Minolta Freedom Escort for the cheapest price ever (payed 10£ on ebay + P&P for 7 apparently working random minolta p&s, the freedom escort being one of them), will also post the results, although it's a relatively unknown/rare camera, it has been compared to the Yashica T4 and the Leica mini II (that Leica had, allegedly, the same minolta lens and everything) and you can usually get it well cheap when it pops up on Ebay. Can also share the results for the Minolta APZ, which has a f2.8 lens, but don't know if it's any good...

Comparing images like this (very different things, and home-dev black and white against colour) makes not much sense to me.
Never heard of that Minolta until now.Never heard of that Pentax shown above either until a few days ago, then found one pretty cheap and went for it.
May be the one most prone to breaking of the point and shoots in the photo up there, but it's sweet, really looking forward to shoot it.I loaded them all with CT Precisa, and will borrow a tripod to do some comparable shots when I got the time.
Has anyone done this kind of thing (comparing point and shoots side by side) and can offer any tips? -

The internet went down today and I got bored, so loaded a short roll of B&W film, shot it and developed in coffee because I saw and article on it a while back.
I sorta just freestyled with about 7 tsp of instant coffee and 4 tsp of baking soda in water cooled to about 25 degrees C, I left it for about an hour in a thermos flask and then poorly 'scanned' it with the 5d and iPad.

Only digitised two frames, I'm surprised that it worked even slightly.

Always found that caffenol method fascinating, at the same time never got round to actually do it -
in the end I basically just don't like the "look" it delivers. Might do it with portrait shots some day. -

...also just saw the others on your tumblr - some of them really nice!
I like the light, and how the yellow "pops"; this has been a slightly overcast sky, right?

Conditions as per the top photo. Few clouds, bright sun.

What would be recommended as a good first medium format camera? Haven't got loads of money to spend but feel I should get one at some point.
I'm not even sure if I want a TLR or SLR right now.

I just clocked my 35ti was set to +2 stops of exposure comp, that means I think I shot a whole roll of provia like that :/ am I fucked?

Not if you pull it two stops in Dev, no.

Problem is I'm not sure if it was shot like that or not, might just process it as normal and hope it's fine/get highlights.

@indra,
First off, do you need an inbuilt light meter? This makes quite a big difference in your price range and options (in built meters add a chunk but so does buying a light meter if you don't have one, although I'm told the smart phone apps work rather well)
You also need to decide what format you want - 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7 etc.Personally I reckon just getting going with anything is a good start. I was given my RB67 and it wouldn't have been my first choice at all really but I've come to love it (despite its hefty size). I've also only come to know what I want from a medium format camera through shooting on the one I have.
In short, just get something and start shooting, you'll be able to sell it on anyway if you decide you want something different. -

I've got a Leica lupe that needs a good clean, I've taken it apart myself and given it a light going over but it needs a proper deep clean...
Any suggestions where I could take it if a can of compressed air doesn't shift the fluff/hair in there?

Aperture photographic on Rathbone place should be able to do it for you.

^^^ I'm not sure, I don't really use the meter in my MX but would probably want one in an MF camera as I don't have a handheld and wouldn't want to waste lots of expensive film guessing exposures.
