  • Last I visit, they do have a selection on the ground floor.

  • Anyone know anywhere to get a shimano reach adjustment shim kit for tiagra st 4600 shifters in the uk, or if not, can anyone definitively tell me if the specialized slim shim work in the tiagra st 4600 levers #smallhands

Just go to a bicycle shop and ask them for shims.

A different bar would help as well.

  • Are you allowed to take bike frames on the tube?

I just got turned sway from Seven Sisters with my track frame with everything but wheels on. Could have sworn I'd taken frames on the tube before. Now I have to slog the frame, a Brompton, a big bag and a wheel bag (without a wheel in) down to Brixton some other way. I suppose this is why people have cars.

  • Is it a bicycle without wheels? I'd say no- it's a frame, and I've never seen any regulations concerning frames.

I think you have been turned away unfairly.

  • Really? That's total bullshit.

Also after 8pm? They're clearly smoking crack. Go back and tell them you can't wait for them to get replaced by a machine.

  • If you can I'd grab a bus down to Finsbury park. Its a pain, but it should only be 20mins.

There are no barriers so you could just walk straight past them if they give you shit.

  • To be fair it is a massive frame, maybe they were trying to tell me that 61cm is too big.

She said the rules went for frames too as it still wasn't a folding bike. She said 'frames' so it sounded like she knew her stuff. I didn't want to make a fuss, and I spend my days trying to get people to follow arbitrary rules, so I didn't feel right arguing back, plus she was very nice about it and not at all a cunt. Still annoying though.

I got the train to Liverpool St, now on a bus to Brixton, about an hour after leaving the house.

    Pah.

  • ^Why not walk down the line to the next station and try your luck with someone else?

  • Seven Sisters to Finsbury Park is a trek, especially with the amount of luggage I had.

My route was fine in the end, and got me closer to where I needed to be, it just took me an hour longer than it should have.

  • Flight takes off at 7am Sunday morning, Easyjet from Gatwick to France.

We are checking a bag to travel in the hold.

What time to aim to get there?

We'll be getting a taxi over there from SE London.

  • Ebay question.

Someone recently bought a brake lever from me as a buy it now. Item was described correctly etc and I specified no returns. I sent the lever well within the published time and he acknowledges receiving it. However after I sent it he sent me a message saying he accidentally bought it and doesn't want it. I apologised, said it's too much hassle since i've sent it already to do him a favour accept a return. He's now threatining to open up a case.

I'm completely in the right and I have his messages acknowledging he made the mistake, he received the item, and it is as described. But I also know that ebay always seem to take the buyers side? do I just give in or tell him to jog on?

  • I would think that if you are an established ebayer there would be no problem, since as you say you followed protocol. I haven't encountered this "buyers are best" in the 3 disputes I've had over the years, I was the seller in two of the cases and ebay ruled in my favour.

  • hmm, I'll politely point out to him he is at fault and advise him on the best way to relist it...

  • Good plan, ebay looks at all the conversations between buyer and seller when a dispute is opened.

  • Actually, screw that. I'll make my point, then i'll refund him out of my mercy.

  • ^^ What a senseless waste of human life.

  • haha

    Officially I think 04:00 but I think you'll be OK with 05:00.

  • 6:20 is fine if you've already checked in online.

  • Husy, I had an EBay dispute recently with a cunt who won the bidding for a Brompton rack in Australia and then told me he didn't want it and nerged me saying it was 'not as described'. EBay were actually really good at helping me out with it, and got the feedback removed and put a strike on his record.

I would have faith in their customer resolution thing.

  • This is so British.

Fuck that. Bloody jobsworth cunts. shout at them. make a fuss. resist. no surrender.

And ruin the day of someone nice, and have everyone else think I'm a whinging cunt?

This is why we're all voting UKIP. All them forrins coming here trying to stir up revolt.

  • Tom, there is no restriction on frames - not in writing anyway. I've taken frames on the tube at least twice and it's been no problem.

  • Here in Holland we cant bring bikes on the bus, but a couple of weeks ago I brought one with the wheels separate in wheelbags. No problemo.

  • yes, I've popped the wheels off my bike in the event of a puncture and hopped on the tube with the wheels in one hand, frame in the other, no problems. I guess it just depends on the member of staff.
