  • Did they chain you to your bike or something?

  • 69.5kg. Hello and goodbye 70kg, going to be treating you as a ceiling again.

  • Hello calzone
    Hello Krispy Kreme
    Hello beer

  • Marathon training out of the way so I can focus on dropping weight again. Just need to get through easter and 11 days in america over the next 4 weeks.

bit of judicious myfitnesspal usage between now and the states on may 1st should at the very least give me a buffer so I don't ballon while I'm out there.

  • Hiya beer. Hiya pal.

  • Fuck

Went to Brighton with Howard and Corlis Benefideo today, one of them is 60kg, the other 55kg. I am currently 95kg, so was over 50% heavier than either of them. It meant I descended fucking quickly, but my brake was struggling to slow me, and the climbs were much harder work than they need to be.

Must stop the evening snacks, would like to get down to 14 stone in the next few months.

  • Oli cheats on the hills by being small. Disregard him.

  • He does, and this is very sporting of him, have a decidedly un-aero hair-cut which should generate significant drag - I believe he does this in an attempt to level the playing field with massive fatties like James.

  • Also, is DJ now fatter than Hippy?

If so, someone needs to replace the Hippy face on Lampre man with DJ's smiling boat.

  • I feel I am now fatter than a very fat thing, with the constitution of a piece of deep fried cheese.

  • DJ, you need to be on homemade vegetable soup every day with no bread.. For snacks, have Laughing Cow cheese triangles on melba toast.

    It's a pleasure.

  • I did really well in January and have been going backwards since then, to the point that I think I'm actually fatter than I was just after Christmas. Back on the MFP after Easter. And no more fuelling for afterwork rides I then fail to go on; that really hasn't helped.

  • 68.7kg so probably 69 ish allowing for dehydration- some progress! Had a resting heart rate of 38 last night, which was nice.
@ tricity- I do that like all the time as well. I like the lying to myself- it allows me treats!

  • I have the secret for weight loss.

    Get dumped.

Have lost a stone and a half of useless fat (plus another nine stone...)

  • The coke/vodka/hookers also help with weight (and money) loss

RPM is now fatter than hippy. Scherrit is now fatter than hippy.
Quite a few peeps are fatter than hippy at the moment.

  • That must put you at under 85kg?

  • ^^ This is a pity because I just saw this jersey review earlier this afternoon and thought it'd be perfect for you: http://road.cc/content/review/116757-vo2-sportswear-team-pie-long-sleeve-cycling-jersey?page=8

Might as well buy it for myself now if you've wasted away to nothing.

  • RPM is now fatter than hippy.
    RPM's a sprinter, he doesn't count.

You sure you aren't confusing fatter with taller?

  • RPM's a sprinter, he doesn't count.

You're on the list too Oli.

  • You sure you aren't confusing fatter with taller?

Shit! I knew something was up when my scales starting reading measurements in CM rather than KG.

  • Hiya beer. Hiya pal.

    Do not recall posting this.

    Bank Holiday weekend though.

  • I need to stop eating so much on 'rest' days.

  • Checking back in.
This time last year I was devouring 40miles a day commute, plus getting in the gym for circuits or strength and conditioning training 4/5 times a week.
In 8 months I had dropped 10kgs, shed 15% body fat and my CV was way up there.
I think i was the fittest I have been in my adult life.

Then in June I came off a mountain bike and suffered a separated shoulder, collarbone broken in 6 places, 5 fractures on my radius and ulnar, severely broken wrist and a couple of breaks in my hand. Basically I shattered my left side and there was a brief point in time where there was a question mark over whether I would ever be able to use my hand again.

Anyway, after the best part of a year either on the operating table, laid up in bed or sitting at home feeling sorry for my self I have piled on the weight and lost all tone.
In the last month I have got back on the commute, and with a few cockpit adjustments I am doing 15 miles each way relatively pain free.
I am unable to do my old gym routine (kettlebells, freeweights, floor work, bodyweight exercises) due to the fact my hand has next to zero grip and I am still not quite upto bearing weight on my injuries.

Did my first century ride yesterday and am shocked, upset and appalled by how bad I let it get.
I knew I was going to be laid up and have a prolonged period of enforced inactivity and I took it as a green light to slob out.

Not too sure about how I will negotiate the gym work stuff but I will have to give that some thought. i can defo start on the squats and core work without putting too much stress on my injuries.
    But this is it.
    The commute is on.
The weekend rides are back in the frame.
    The diet is getting sorted.

See this as a statement of intent and excuse my using this thread to motivate myself!
