Is that in one day?! That is some fantastic going.

Chapeau for not bringing up how far you rode as well. I just looked up Yr Elenydd to see the route and saw that it was 350km!
Probably wasn't mentioned as it's a bit on the short side for an audax ;)

10:51 moving time, at 17.2mph average? Fucking hell.
That's what my legs have been telling me since Monday morning, quite loudly. A bit slower next time, I think.

I think the official distance was 308k, one or two people had long rides there and back too. Someone turned it into a 320 mile ride, but I don't think that was hippy.

yep, some of the faster riders didn't even have to ride in the dark.
It's an amazing ride and I'd love to do it again. Maybe not next year as the weather is bound to be terrible given the fairly benign conditions we had.

Great pics Corlis, road porn galore. Gutted my geared bikes up on bricks, I'm pining for epics like that.
And the weather gods seem to smile on you whenever you're in that part of the world. I don't think I've ever seen sunnier pics round those parts than the ones you and Fox took on your last visit up there.

Rode 85 miles from my house to cambridge via some of the chiltern cycleway. Got sunburnt legs and chops. Saw a black squirrel. There are some short sharp climbs on that cycleway. Cambridgshire is nice.

Fell off my bike last November. Not particularly badly but it took me a while to recover and I developed the yips. I've been commuting but haven't been out there for fun until yesterday. Took my sscx out for a leisurely 30 mile leg stretch in the sunshine. Loved it. I still don't fully commit to corners and was nervy downhill but I saw baby bunnies and made my legs ache.
Onwards and upwards. Got to give my road bike some attention now. It's been out of action since I limped home. Still got blood on the brake hoods.

Roughly 80+ miles of Derbyshire/ Peak District bliss with the club this morning. Was quite fast, got lost also. Been out for 4hrs 45, with a cafe stop somewhere.
I have very little idea of where we've been, both Garmin and phone died on me.
I've really missed hills, they're amazing fun.
This was the planned route...

As always, the roads were super empty.

20 miles to and from race circuit for training for potential race on Wednesday.
In between was an hour of race tempo riding and practice attacks. It hurt. -

practice attacks
I just kick when someone eats, has a drink, tightens their shoe, answers their phone etc. Telling people their rear tyre is deflating works (once per rider only).
Six of us rode a sketchy, gravelly, hilly 70km ride with a cafe stop in an abbey. The roads are in bits.
The coffee was appropriately heavenly and the chocolate cake sinful, nobody crashed so all good.
It's really nice to be fit(ish) and on the summer bike.

Hats off to the gent I had the pleasure of cycling round regents park this morning. He drafted behind me for quite a few laps but when ever we stop at lights we chatted and as I finally pulled off home he said thank you!

Got just outside the M25 to Toys Hill, about a 53 mile round trip. The hill itself wasn't as bad as I thought, but i got over ambitious on the way back up the other side of the valley and cramped up. Need to go again with someone else so I can enjoy the pub on the top!

First ride in Devon in about 18 months. Beautiful scenery, painfully slow. I wish I'd ridden my bike at some point last year. I think that would've helped.

Took the train to 130km. Then all downhill. This route is epic.

Nice riding with to[m*7] yesterday, pootled along the Grand Union Canal and then North to Watford to watch a football match. No tickets and tired so headed back the more direct / less scenic route via the A5. Probably a lucky escape looking at the scoreline.
No idea why 50 miles after track intermediates seemed like a good idea, but it was a lovely day for it!

Cycliste and I did the Pendle Witches Vintage Velo ride today with a friend of mine. An excellent ride, as ever, although Nick o' Pendle on a 42x28 bottom gear remains something of a challenge.
Chapeau for not bringing up how far you rode as well. I just looked up Yr Elenydd to see the route and saw that it was 350km!
