help me and my stupidness
can i get a 'normal' rear mech to fit this......
You need one of these.
-
• #91783
^^It has no mech hanger. Those eyelets are for mudguards.
You could try "direct mount derailleurs". -
• #91784
Or what he said...

i would like to use a shimano m735 xt mech
also.....would 35c cx tyres fit in here?
You need a gear hanger like this:

Tyre depends on the original wheel size and the width of your current rims. However I'd guess that unless that bike was designed for 27 1/4 wheels, i doubt it.

*PRO TIP!*
Those moist towlettes for getting your bum extra clean double up handily as a way of cleaning your bike frame if you don't want to get your girlfriend's carpet all messy, and leave the frame smelling like a nice scented arse.
*DISCLAIMER!*
I have no idea how it might affect paintwork/bare metal/structural integrity, but it looks shinier.

I use surface wipes, makes sure your bike is free from 99.99% of bacteria.
-
• #91788
Yeah but they don't half make your arse sting.

How about the MKS Urban Step-In?
I use them on my Brompton.
They can be hard to find though.

Amateur tip:
Baby wipes do the same job, and they're cheaper. -

Shimano PD-A530, or Wellgo WPD-M17 if you're after something with a more classical appearance.

Finally got the risers and grips fitted, much better. Still got a few more parts to swap out before I'm properly happy with it though ... I think the first thing to be changed up is the cheap, crappy saddle.

What about the comedy wide bars/teeny brake lever combo?
-
• #91800
^ Nothing wrong with the bars! There's a bit of a problem with the tiny brake lever though I have to admit, not that good of a feel with MTB BB7s, going to have to pick up a proper lever to replace it with I think.
Ha- very fair comment.
But no... I'm predicting that I'm done with new bikes until one breaks.
The only bike that I'm unsure of keeping is the Holdsworth... but I've just had an idea for that too...
