All the best for all 'thonners tomorrow. Will be watching from the comfort of my sofa, having done my pitiful 6 miles at a very very slow pace.

My first Parkrun this morning. A quick fixed ride out there to warm the legs and then 28 mins in total. Quite happy with that, paticularily as I didn't stop once for a change!
Good luck for those VLMing tomorrow.

Nice one Jules, Eaton Park? That's a nice one.

No, Catton as it's a bit closer. Will try Eaton next time.

Good luck from Argentina to all of the runners this weekend, I'll be streaming it from my sofa. My advice is pick your pacemaker, put your headphones in and just keep him/her in eyesight. Don't go crazy ducking and dodging to keep side by side

Shaved another couple of minutes off my long run. 14.3km in 1:13:58. Happy with that, but less happy with my lack of cold beer in the fridge. Must plan better.

I'm two gates behind my pacemaker :(
I'm going to take it easy to start but foresee a lot of dodging and weaving in my race...
it's what I get for over estimating my time when I signed up.

Avoid the early miles dodging and weaving as much as possible. it uses up effort and energy. it will clear out soon enough and you will be able to run properly.

Can't you just go in a different gate? How rigorously is London police?

Old bill is jokez, right?
Apparently they're actually quite strict about gates. I can't remember what gate I am.

I am going to Sky+ all the coverage and watch it all on Monday. Sped up. And then imagine that I ran it at that speed.

the thing we can take solace in is that no matter how slow we go tomorrow, it'll never be as slow as a HHSB slide to brighton and we won't have to fix any punctures...

I like this.
Just looking at the route and the last seven or eight miles are half of my training route. That's exactly where I'd love to be smashing it, on home turf, but also exactly where I'll grind to a halt and start shuffle-walking. At least half of London will be watching my shame...

Good luck all. Just remember to enjoy yourselves.

Knee feels normal sitting and standing, hurts properly when walking, had to stop and rest on my way to the pub.
Internet diagnosis please

RSI on the tendons or you have damaged the cartilage are my guesses. Where is the pain in the knee?

Just reading the final prep instructions for tomorrow. my start zone is the same as the elites (of course) but not only that, it is literally the exact spot I set my fastest ever 5k personal best. gotta be a good omen, that.
btw sparky and hats just before mile 21 is where the run dem crew will be encamped (from what I hear you won't miss them), throw up your best gunfingers as you go through and you'll likely get a nice roar of encouragement to help you on your way.
and on that note I'm off for a nice hot bath before bed. see you all on the other side...

Run dem?

9.15 arrival at Blackheath will be ok, right? Not checking bags so don't want to have to hang around from too early.

I'm in the green enclosure with the z-list celebs and corporate places.

I would take that action as I like a sure thing but I'd hate to see you lose your money...
I admire your confidence Hatbeard.. Considering you've never completed a single marathon before, so complacent about finishing the day before one of the biggest sporting events on the planet.
I hope you've eaten sensibly this evening and good nights sleep, fingers crossed you have no trouble getting to the start in time. I'm sure your right.. its 100% guaranteed a man of your athletic ability will finish with no bother.
@jolyon: 20 minute jog, stretching, rest, pasta.
Good luck tomorrow everyone. If it is anything like today make sure you drink enough. the gentle breeze will help. Make sure you enjoy it. Not everybody can do what you are doing.
