We need some new office chairs. One of the guys in the office is pretty big, I'd guess c.20st.
Can anyone recommend an office chair that's not too expensive that will cope with someone of that weight?
Also if anyone knows of any good deals, etc. on plain vanilla office chairs that would be useful too.
Cheers.

Looking for headset bearings for a friend. Cane Creek headset finder says IS41 top and bottom.
Can anyone point me in the direction of some cheapie generic bearings that will fit without buying a whole headset?

I've used these guys a fair bit with work. Don't know about bike related stuff though..

Are they bearings for integrated headsets? A quick google image search makes me think so. Might be better off just buying a new headset as the bearings are 99% of what comes in the box :)

I'm hoping to be proven wrong but wouldn't there be too much cable travel with the new Dynasys actuation ratio for a bar end shifter?
I was thinking of a downtube lever, they usually have a bit more spare capacity.
Wouldn't the derailleur be too narrow with the 8 speed chains?
If it is, you can shim it, but in practice the cages aren't usually so tight that the extra 1.3mm is a deal breaker.

Am I right in thinking that using a 8-speed friction shift lever for a sram 10spd rear mech will not work?
something to do with the pull ratio.

Only if that means there isn't enough movement in the lever to get the mech through all the gears.

I ordered something off ebay that I don't want because it arrived after I needed it. Plus the cheeky fuckers sent it 2nd class when I paid £3 extra for 1st class postage so it *would *arrive on time.
it says;
Returns:
14 days refund, buyer pays return postage...I'm now going through their 'contact the seller' returns bit but the amount just comes up as the base cost of £7.44 rather than the £10 total.
Any thoughts?

Shimming the sprocket defintely work, which is my current method with a 10 speed campagnolo derailleur on an 8 speed chain.

Scoble saw a tv programme on France once, so he qualifies.
Whereabouts are you thinking of going?

Trying to sort out the Marmotte trip. Have camper van, will drive etc
Given that I don't need to stay near the start - within reason - where is the best place I can be etc

The Chartreuse or Vercors would be my choice. Chambery and Aix-les-Bains are pleasant, in a sedate kind of way.

La Chambre is a good place as well. Small but nice and a proper location to head out from to either the marmotte route or northwards to tackle la Madeleine.

I've never had this issue using 105 rear mechs with 8 speed chains, but then again they are specified as suitable for 8,9 or 10 speed drivetrains unlike the mountain bike derailleurs.
Looks like I'll just have to continue living my life with a bit more chain noise.

I ran a 105 rear derailleur with a 8 speed chain before (and 8 speed downtube shifter), it work perfectly well, but that was something like 3 years ago and I vaguely remember much, I don't remember any noise or rubbing.
Recently I ran a Dura Ace 7800 derailleur with an 8 speed chain, and felt the chain rubbing very slightly against the derailleur cages at the biggest/smallest sprocket.
Currently running a Campagnolo Veloce derailleur with an old jockey wheel from a 6 speed Campagnolo derailleur, I find that the Campagnolo derailleur have a better feedback than Shimano with friction shift (used with Retrofriction levers).
Wouldn't the derailleur be too narrow with the 8 speed chains?
