I need some new pads for my V brakes. What's usually recommended as the best value for money?
It's for a folder (20" Wheels) if that makes any difference...
I used to use clarks, they're really cheap at sub £5 for pair of brake pads and spare cartridges and fairly stoppy and hard wearing.
Wiggle do reasonably cheap cartridge V brake pads and road pads under their "Lifeline" brand. Probably manufactured by Ashima.

I want a plaque like this for my lathe.
Any idea where I can get one made? I've given up searching for a proper one, but haven't had much luck at finding a supplier of reproductions of such things. Everything I find seems to be cheap etched stuff suitable for nameplates/trophies/signage.
You own a lathe but aren't going to have a go at making your own plaque? #doesnotcompute

You can't turn a plaque on a lathe, can you Hippy-numb-nuts?
-
• #58481
No shit Sherlock, but someone with a fucking lathe is clearly not averse to a bit of DIY.

On Sat am I need to go to a depot here: Enfield, Greater London EN3 4NQ
...from Finsbury Park.
I was thinking there might be a nice way to combine it into a ride. But the initial route looks grim as.
Anyone know that area and have any suggestions?
Cheers.

Where is the cheapest place to buy genuine Rayban Wayfarers with polarised lenses? Cheapest so far is about £150 from asos - I remember these used to be like £80!
-

I know exactly what you mean. I think you'll struggle. I had the same problem when I was looking for some folding ones.
I think your best bet for cheap is second hand or airport duty free+sales.
It's weird 'cause one of the reasons I always used to buy Ray Bans was they were at a solid price points with decent lenses and solid designs.
If it's any consilation I think something like 80% of glasses are made by the same company and there usually isn't any difference in quality. SunSki are worth a look for nice polarised lenses at a sensible price. Otherwise I've always found Bloc to be good.

Ta. Think this will be the way I'll end up going. I thought I must be missing something. Figured there'd be loads of train/traction engine/model beardy enthusiast sorts out there creating a reasonable market for this sort of thing.

I ended up buying off eBay (new) in the end, although if you have found a good deal through Asos, I find they regualrly do 20% offers, or you could use someone's 10% staff discount. You can also save a tiny bit more going via Quidco.

if it was me and I had access to the orginal/someone that does I'd make one by getting epoxy paste to make a mould, then melt down something like pewter to cast it with. Not brass but dirt cheap and eminently doable on your stove very quickly and if you paint it you'd not know.

If it was me I'd hang out in a cafe in Hoxton Square on a Sunday morning with all the little trust fund cunts recovering from their meowmeow binges the night before. I think you'd have about ten pairs for the price of a few fairtrade pancakes and a soya chai latte.

If it was me I'd just stay in bed most of the morning, have a cry wank then an ice cold shower, stab my bike's tyres a few times then come on here and moan about doing an epic sufferfest of a ride but my Garmin flaking out.

oof. that's like the Navy Seal level of solo-sex training. Only thing I can think of that would make it more difficult is knowing that whilst under the icy deluge, Graham Norton was spying on you doing it.

Or you could short circuit the conversation in the meantime by getting onto one of the railway preservation fora.

Any recommendations for a free simple to use software to crop and resize jpegs?

Dude its not cool to mock the dead. Not cool at all.

I'm not mocking. Maybe he is watching you jerking your frozen chipolata like a geriatric with parkinsons trying to get the key in the front door.
cast brass? will cost loads for a one off. CNC place is probably your best option, still will cost a fair bit.
