Does anyone know of anywhere in London selling the Sturmey Archer DS30 3 speed trigger shifter? Ideally I'd like to get one today and get it fitted this evening, which is asking even more.

is there a patented way to repair the cuts in a tyre? i've patched the inner tube, removed the tiny bit of glass, whats next? i've heard superglue in the past, but wouldn't that go hard and spiky like glass?

Tiny dash of glue then hold the cut shut

You could always just leave it alone. If it's a huge gouge then use a tyre boot on the inside, but a little hole made by a little bit of glass won't really cause further punctures.

On sidewall or on the top?
They'll only be temporary really, best thing to do is cut a bit of old inner tube and glue it on the offending area from the inside.

Shoe goo / freesole have also been mentioned - they're glue that stays flexible even when cured

that sent me straight to my childhood; thanks tester
I'm not quite that young, but I've been using it for nearly 15 years now and have never had to go looking elsewhere for any of the image manipulation I do
Tiny dash of glue then hold the cut shut
Also works on human flesh

From that link:
Given the number of limitations in its use and the issues of liability we would not advise glue is used to treat others. If you choose to use it to treat yourself, do so...with care and full understanding.
Hardly a ringing endorsement!
Shoe Goo is nails. I've used it to mend quite a lot of footwear (including my current spd shoes) and you can also use it to coat footwear to give a flexible waterproof coating. Sounds ideal for tyres, I'm not sure why I didn't think of it before.

You can repair the inside with a standard patch and superglue shut the cut from the outside. Can also be used to repair cut tubeless tyers that don't use sealant like UST. Not human flesh though

Cling film and baby oil is still less uncomfortable when smuggling illegal substances in your bottom...apparently.

What cantilever brakes are the correct choice to work with Shimano 5700 brifters?
Ribble do the Shimano CX50 for £24 per end.
OO/PX have Tektro mini-V for £20 per pair (F+R).OO/PX have the Frog's bollox for £25 per end but the super-wide format might interfere with panniers.
Rest of groupset will be silver.
Other options?

CX50 are great brakes and very easy to set up, but do not get the Frog.
If you want ultimate stopping power, and since you said you'll have panniers, you'll find yourself wanting some Mini V.

Any prettier Mini Vs?

Can anyone recommend me a pair of decent gloves (short or long finger) with THE BEST median and ulnar padding...?

Pretty and mini-V doesn't really compute, it's just a metal bar with some holes in it. You might as well look at Shimano BR-R353 at the cheap end and TRP CX8.4 at the high end just in case you can see some aesthetic that the rest of us are missing :-) The Shimano ones are nominally available in silver, which might be a consideration

The Paul Mini-Vs are pretty, but as Tester highlighted in Porn, they are stupid.

are the CX8.4/CX9 significantly better than the shimano
Shuron is my standard answer - I know they're not Ray Bans, but I bet they made them first, still make them at their original location and the quality remains high. You can also spec an entire range of customization (depending on the model) from arm length/style to lens size to bridge width to colour or material.
