Agreed. So many LOLZ in this film.
My favourite 'Murica moment was probably when the female Secretary of State was being dragged away after being beaten to a pulp and she started screaming the pledge of allegiance.
Also, the plot was extremely special needs.
It was slightly better than the other (very)similarly plotted White House Down. That limo in the white house grounds scene was laughable.

Just saw The Double. What an absolute pile of shit.
Cliché at every level. I need to go and read the Dostoevsky original to see how the film makers managed to extract this pile of tripe out of it.
The sound design, the art direction, script, the acting – just everything was bad. I think the only redeeming feature was the typeface they used in the titles. And that it finished. -

Interesting. Currently watching the director on Graham Norton. He's a bit of a ledge. Submarine was pretty good.

Hmmm... the reviews all look good. Anyone else seen it? Hope it's not been overhyped.

Not 1st hand but my girlfriend said it had been totally overhyped and a bit of a let down. Fuck face from Facebook film really drags it down too but the story is the worst bit.

Submarine was a good film and I enjoyed watching it on the telly last nigh.
The Double took some of it's stranger moments and amplified them. Felt very try hard and overworked. Overnight, the initial rage of wasting £30 at Screen on The Green on a terrible film has subsided, however my opinion remains the same. Oh, and wetlips Jesse Eisenberg is annoying and his character so pathetic you lose interest rather than gain any empathy. If I had to rate The Double I would give it 1/10. -

1/10? That's almost an advertisement ;)

You lot have confirmed that I will not be watching the double anytime soon, I saw Noah yesterday and what a long drawn out affair that was.
I really like Darren Aronofsky's other work but that film could have been made by anyone. 3/10

it has kevin sorbo in it. who played hercules on tv's famous 'hercules'. so god(s) pay the bills.
e2a - philosophy professor cast as the villain of the piece? FINALLY, someone is prepared to speak out about these hellbound, godless ghouls who plague our nations young minds with new age nonsense like 'critical thinking' and 'books'.
who are probably all sex pests as well.

Just watched Calvary. Simply amazing. Perfectly manages to ask serious questions about religion while still being darkly darkly funny. Dare I say 10/10.
