Denim heads, can I dry clean selvedge?
Pair in question are Lee 101b. Had first (cold machine) wash after maybe 3 or 4 months of rotation with a couple of other pairs. I then wore them another couple, then forgot them in a locker for a few weeks so they're now all musty and grim.
Dry clean safe?

I like the look of Gustins and how it works. I'll keep my eye out.
Try it...get the slim fit...the lower leg on the standard is silly wide...and you will have to get them taken up, unless you like a triple or quadruple roll up. As the general rule the waist measurement is spot on as per the size chart.

Bath tub them with cold water and then leave on a trouser hanger outside.
They don't sound dirty so cold wash and fresh air is probably all they need. You could also steam them with an iron with something nice smelling in

You can dry clean denim but I think it washes the indigo out too much, they go a bit powdery IYKWIM, not great...
Cold wash... If you must...

Also, forgive me father for I have sinned against Selvedge. A friend gave me a pair of cast-off grey Levi 511s in "Line 8" stretch denim. Was dubious but they fitted, felt and looked great. Reader, I bought another pair. Irk the purists!

That's exactly what I was thinking of getting. Hmm.

I love my 511's!
I would for the most part ignore Internet 'knowledge' and get what you want, you are the one wearing them!

Hopefully the right place....
How to watch black jeans? I've put them on 30 degree washes but they always come out with more white crease marks and more faded.
I know you can spot clean, but surely there is a technique which involves chucking them in the machine.

I wouldn't machine wash denim of any colour on anything other than Cold (which, on most machines, isn't truly cold. It's about 10 degrees, and perfect).

This and use a delicates cycle...DON'T use a high spin...or any spin of that matter...better to drip dry and let gravity do its work rather than a centrifuge...thats when things get fucked.
To be honest, this is all rather basic stuff gents, that a bit of common sense and a few tips from your mum should help you get your head around.

When I was anal about such things, I'd shallow fill a bath with cold water, add a little washing up liquid and mix in well before carefully placing the jeans in the bath... Submerge and leave to soak for quarter of an hour or so, gently hand wash then rinse out thoroughly in cold water...

I've tried every way of doing it... Non-washing is the best...

It's like a preggers test for men.
Righty ho, it sounds as though a trip to the Edwins store would be worthwhile, at least to get an idea of fit.
