Sweet.
Also can you get the giro republic replacement sole parts?

I couldn't find them (didn't try Extra UK though), I do have a pair of broken Aliums with a spare set of springs though (thanks to Hugo7).
The wider outer spring is the same as ROCs but the inner spring is different and doesn't work as a replacement. Let me know if I can help

Are your springs round or square?

Will check today for the spring and soles.

^Condor workshop had some last time I needed springs, both square and round.

Right, this is what we got from Extra UK.
If your pedals is less than 2 years old, it's under warranty, otherwise advise to buy a new set, they don't stock spare part.
This is why they're readily available on eBay and the like.

Just spent far too much money on some MKS Urban Step pedals with flats on one side and Time clippage on the other. Fitted them to my bike at the weekend and rode it today.
The fucking left hand pedal has dismantled itself and the clip holderer-inner has unscrewed itself and fallen to bits on the way home. To say I am pissed off is an understatement. To cap it all. I scraped the fucker on a tight corner later on so now I've probably buggered my chances of returning it for a refund.
Does anybody know if there are spares for these things?
-
• #811
Scraped or not warranty should be good surely?
Unless this scrape is actually more serious than it sounds and the pedal is bent in half? =] -
• #812
If you've just brought them - send them back under warranty.
-
• #813
^^^ they all do that sir. Get a refund or ask the shop to send you spares?
I was given the heads-up regarding this issue with them so Loctite went on the threads. They've been ok with just the occasional tighten.
They are a bugger to locate for clipping in though. You just have to stamp in their general direction and hope. They're quite shit pedals, which is a shame because they're a great idea.

FAO anyone wanting some cheapish new Atacs with adjustable tension I'd recommend the All Road Grippers.
Not double-sided but I've had no problems, and it's so nice to not have the foot on ice cube feeling that you get with knackered springs!
About £27 at Ribble which isn't bad considering how much a new set of cleats cost.

Got these a while ago on ebay, where they were listed as Ti/Carb MTB. They've been awesome thus far, aside from the rubber bung to the right of the pedal, which works itself loose after each ride.
Anyone had that issue? (Sorry I'm shit at embedding)

Read the whole thread and just wanted to confirm:
the old style with the grey/yellow plastic covers are good to ride, but difficult to service as they don't make the parts anymore, but still worth picking up if you can get them for cheap?
( These ones: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/OTUwWDk1MA==/z/ZucAAMXQL99SbsoE/$(KGrHqFHJ!0FJYRmw-LdBSbsoDluyQ~~60_35.JPG )

^^Pretty much.
I have about 4 or 5 pairs and the bit that comes in different colours squeaks a bit on most of them.
Cheap enough on ebay that you can just replace rather than service or do as I've done and break a little part on one pedal and keep the rest of the set for spares.
I got a set of DH4s recently and they seem really good too. Different design = no squeak plus in my Giro skate style shoes I feel like my feet are falling off the sides of the smaller pedals but not with the DH4s.

Quick questions. My pretty mashed everyday Time Atac XS pedals have seen about 2 years and 1000s of miles and I have noticed play in the left pedal spring, side to side movement. Can't see a crack or anything and they still work and fill firm. Is there anything I can do? I might chuck them on a beater and get a new pair tbh...

remove dustcap, insert socket wrench, tighten
-
• #822
That's for the axle, not the spring. You could buy replacement springs if you think they're worn out. Replacing them is usually fairly straight forward - pull the pins that hold them in out, drop new ones in, reinsert pins

• #823
my bad, read that in a hurry
-
• #824
cool, might do that! thanks

I think someone ground down the thread of the locknut on my atac aliums, does anyone know if this is just a standard nut (if so what size?) or if it's a special one?
Reason why I ask is because the axle thread tapers so I was wondering if the locknut thread does as well....
Cheers all
edit: found this earlier on page 15... '10.9mm M5 countersunk'.... is this definitely the locknut?
If Neil Wheels don't have Extra as their distro, we do.
