Had a hard week of pub and work so not enough riding. 77.6 at last weigh in, so that's 9.2 down from the beginning of Jan. Lowest was 75.4 about a fortnight ago, which is a bit lower than I want really. Torso still shedding weight (beginning to get that hollow weird atrophied look :/ ), but it's slowly shifting to my legs, which is nice.

I was chatting to JAMIE a bit about this the other night - After such a ruthless shedding I'm finding it quite hard to stop the 'must eat less than this number/ride more than that number' mindset, so have been paying less attention to food in an attempt to stabilise. Not really particularly mentally healthy. But the progress I've made in riding is good (+2mph, admittedly the first ones are the easiest to claw back) and as long as that number keeps increasing I'm reasonably sure my body's happy.

I've jumped back on my fav high fibre + high protein diet. Basically drinking whey protein shakes for breakfast, and post work-out, as well adding high fibre Foods to my day.
Stops me feeling too hungry. So I eat a pretty normal diet. But lose weight because I Train a pretty abnormal amount.
Seems to finally be working. Looking great, smelling vile..

protein bars give me evil farts, I can only imagine the devastation the shakes induce.

Tom, do you run at all? A tall lad like you with an already excellent cardio system would take to it really well and you'll burn so much energy you rarely have to conciously think about calorie intake.

It really depends for me, some brands are horrendous for my tummy, others aren't so bad. I find the My protein unflavoured whey effects me the least.
Gradually cutting protein shakes out all together because I'd rather just eat my protein. Low fat cottage cheese on sesame rye bread is my new favourite thing.

I haven't weighed myself in a couple of months, but curiosity got the better of me these past couple of weeks so started checking again. I was 75kg after christmas and have now stabilized around 70-71kg, which is perfect now more running/cycling events are coming around.

I've always had issues with my back and my knees so not too keen. I tried to get into it while I was at uni but never really got past the 'why does everything hurt?' phase. Used to swim though, so interested in giving that a go again.
The issue isn't really about needing to consciously thinking about calorie intake or not - now I'm back riding a bike again I doubt it'll be an issue until I stop (if I stop). It's just learning to let go now the weight-loss goal has been reached.

I tend to sit Down of an evening With a double portion shake, and half a Box of Alpen, if its been a big day.
Sometimes the next morning I spend 5mins in the garden 'airing'.

Seem to have put on 2kg in a week, Friday was the only day where I know I ate too much, hoping it's some kind of water retention thing, although my wife commented that I was getting fat again last night (it was probably worded slightly more gently)...
I was having a chat with some other guys who are doing ironman training at the moment during yesterday's run about the hunger monster that occasionally catches you and requires serious fridge raiding to satiate, I'm sure there must be some research on why this happens....

I get the feeling that you can increase training and eat the same for quite some time before the deposit catches up.
Which I Guess if impressive of the human body. But its also a bit silly that you feel fine for days untill some glycogen Level alarm goes off. At which point you have to eat a tub of Ben'nJerrys just to achieve normal hunger.
Kinda like owning a car With a petrol gauge that always reads 'nuff petrol', then suddenly switches to 'no petrol, add NItros and rocket fuel'

I feel like a milkshake. Shoreditch Diner? GBK Spitalfields?

Go buy ice cream and leave it in the sun for 20mins.
Job done + more bang for your buck.On the need to eat loads the day after you do lots of exercise/ your first rest day/ taper period- my best guess would be your body being like, well last time you made me do X on too little food, so I'm gonna put an end to those shenanigans.
Or something. -

Job done + more bang for your buck.My 5 year old does this. Demands icecream then says its too cold, so we have to give it to him in a glass and let him wait. Had a big ice Block last night then refused to do a pre bedtime wee as he hadnt 'drank' anythin, he'd 'eaten' an ice block.
Despite watching the fecking thing melt.
I swear he pulls this shit intentionally to bug the fuck out of me.

Is it though? I need some protein. Anyway, Aussie burger and a milkshake from GBK. Sorted.
On-Topic: Now all I have to do is resist getting another burger at the pub tonight..
