@Leshaches @moño cheers. I’d assumed that bolt was too far from what I wanted to achieve to be a player here. Cage now swapped - bike lives to see another day.

Anyone had any joy replacing the cage on a Sram red 22 rear mech? The spring inside the body failed on mine.

Found a cheap one on eBay that was missing the cage.

Figured I could take the cage off my old one and install on the replacement.

Have googled & YouTube’d but can’t find out if it’s possible. Fearing it might not be…

After a pair of 105 brake calipers to complete my 105 5700 groupset — ideally in the grey/silver colour, but not too fussed. 105 5800 would also be fine.

Got some turquoise grips arriving soon to match the other decals. Normally I’m an “all black everything” type, but figured colour is allowed (or mandatory?) on a retro MTB build.

Finished my Bridgestone retro MTB project recently. Some new stuff, mostly spares or donated (the pelago rack blew the budget). 1x10. Love it.

Cofidis team bike paint job. Wouldn’t have picked it had I bought the bike new, but it’s not too bad (and hasn’t flaked as some 695s have).

Did some “fast far” bike packing on my 695 at the weekend. Love the look of it with luggage.

Hi — an out-of-their-depth roadie looking for some help/advice with a retro MTB project.

I've picked up an old Bridgestone CB2 frameset which I'd like to build up as a fun commuter (with a sturdy rack to carry a dog).

I have an old Deore 10speed shifter, mech & cassette. Ideally I want to run the bike 1x. I also have a 40t 110BDC narrow-wide chain ring in my parts bin which I hope I can use.

Need to sort a BB and chainset — this is where I'm not sure what will work. Ideally want something silver to match the other parts.

Anyone done something similar and have any advice? If so, much appreciated.

I haven't got plans to race TTs on it really. Essentially it was an impulse (+ beers) eBay purchase. Finally got it shipped to Sweden before the winter and have slowly been building it up.

I expect it'll just make an absurd cafe bike.

Super nice but I'm going to hold out for the aero post (seems the right thing to do given it's for a retro TT build).

If it were 27.0 this would be absolutely perfect. Sadly that extra .2mm really matters.

Made some progress. Big thanks to folks on here sold me the bars and stem. Still quite a way to go but it's getting there.

After a Cinelli 1A quill stem for a retro TT project. Need one with a 26.0mm clamp. Don’t need an exact length, something between 90mm and 130mm would be ideal.

I've acquired a vintage Campagnolo braze-on front mech for my Cougar TT project.

Problem is it's missing the bolt (and dished washer) to hold it to the frame.

Googled but not had any luck finding out if it's possible to get ahold of spares — anyone know a good resource?

Have the same bolt in my KG241. No rubber though, both parts are metal.

Not had one seize but there should be enough room once you fully unscrew the bolt (and remove it entirely).

If it's really stubborn then I guess some lube/patience/hammer/screaming will work eventually.
