I'm currently making a bed! (well, designing it). I did think about doing a floater similar kind of thing to yours. I think I'm going with a pretty minimal skinny tubed Aluminium box section framed design that I'll polish up as best I can. I'm going to use work facilities and do something with lazer cut coloured acrylic sheet in the headboard. Might turn out nice might turn out shite. It'll be good fun to make though. Going to try and go for no external visible fixings.

OT but I'm from Hereford! Grew up there till I left Sixthform and went to Uni.

@princeperch did I read ages ago that you'd installed a solid fuel stove and had your chimney lined and stuff?? What was required for building regs?
I've already got a 5 inch flue in place from the removal of a back boiler. Will that suffice for a stove and be ok with building regs? Can't see why not..

They are public bikes designed for abuse. Don't expect a 7kg race machine and don't expect to go anywhere fast and you'll have fun.

Ah ok. Makes sense. I think I've just got the map I downloaded from OS (Entire UK) and the crap one that came installed on the Garmin. I'll check and disable anything but the OS one I want. Cheers.

I don't think I'll need any US maps anytime soon. Just Mainly UK.
I had a quick half hearted play with it last night. The OS map is on the 810 and enabled I just couldn't actually get any map to come up on the screen. Maybe I wasn't patient enough to give it enough time to search for satellites (or whatever it needs to do). I'll have another go tonight.

I'm just trying to sort out my new Aldi special @hippy approved Edge 810.
Gone on openstreetmap site for some maps, this one: http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/
But its not giving me an option to enter my email address in the 'Request your map or download it directly', bit. Any ideas? What am I missing? Am I being a bell?

I use that Ride With GPS. You know how it has that 'find' bit and you can browse different cities and download other peoples routes.

Does anyone know of anything else, similar??
