my fourth cast -
yo,
its been a couple of months since ive posted on here, if you dont want to read my boring story then the question is:
will the force of a fixed gear cause damage to my ankle/talus while still recovering from an injury?
story time: im recovering from a severe talus fracture (basically the ankle but the part that is more serious to break) and AVN of the bone (partial deal due to blood vessels being cut) its been almost 4months in plaster now and soon i will be allowed back on the bike, but im not sure if fixed gear will cause problems if i return to it too soon, like should i ride freewheel or a bit until my ankle and talus is back to full strength and fully recovered, the last thing i want to do is cause more damage and have another setback
any advice/comments would be appreciated
thanks -
Yo as I posted a couple of weeks ago I've severely fractured my talus (main bone in foot) in 4 places and I'm bored, I've been riding on a turbo trainer with my cast on lightly so I dont completely become fat and useless.
I have now decided to build up an old frame to keep me occupied and am looking for some cheap parts, remaining parts I need are
Bb
Crankset
Pedals
And a deep wheelset (less than £80)
If you have anything I might be interested in let me know
Also seller will need to post for obvious reasons... -

thanks for your comments, seems like im just going to have to stick to the upper body workouts. and its really helpful to get an real body perspective on whats actually happening to my leg and what happening when i exercise it so thanks for that pistaboy, and ExTra its good to know im not alone its so downgrading!

ok im currently in a leg cast that goes up to my knee and have been for 3weeks, i have fractured my talus in three places (bone near the ankle on the foot) i really feel fat and lazy and am desperate to get out on my bike when its off! but for now i cant, i had the idea of buying a turbo trainer today and just having rides in my house to keep fit? i can get on and off my bike and can pedal fine in the cast (rode backwards stationary)
what im asking you is do you reckon it will do my foot any harm? i do not want to slow the recovery process or do more damage but surely my foot is rigid in a cast and all im really moving is my knee?
opinions appreciated
thanks -
saw this advert on tv earlier though, haven't read the full terms and conditions yet but what do you think on insuring here then claiming after a month or so, £50 excess charged but its still loadssss cheaper than going to apple
what's anyone's opinion on that?
heres the website protect your bubble iphone insurance -
as above, make your own!
black nylon flat webbing can be had from most walking/climbing shops for pennies per/metre, you can get cheap plastic buckles & parts again for a few pence. For leather ones hunt in charity shops 10pence bins, fit 'em and stitch them to the right length or use the original buckle and just skewer holes through the leather. I mean for £9.50+postage you might aswell hang on classifieds and get some MKS ones, I think those are only about £12 new for the plastic ones, and often go for £5 in usable condition on here.
ok well ill attempt make my own but im quite lazy... sigh so i will scan the classifieds until i get round to actually making them
thanks to the both of you -
Send it back to Apple. I paid flat rate of £140 for the repair of my wife's phone and they simply replaced it. Her old one was nasty and gimey (she's a woman after all and don't take care of her devices).
probably best if i do send it back to them, better to pay the extra and get it done officially rather than a third party repair, a new one would be awsome.
thanks -
does anyone know where i can repair my iphone4 screen for under £100? loads of places do it for 100 but before i go through with it i wanted to check if anyone new of anywhere cheaper to get it done, problem is inner screen and outer glass are glued together for the 4 so it costs twice the price to repair compared to the 3gs
i also have a 16gb 3gs for sale, pm for more info £230 -

yo
whats your opinion on these?
there meant to be handcuffs but look like they could easily be turned into foot straps with a little editing, and for only £9.50 posted they are cheaper than any other straps ive seen out there
opinions and comments would be appreciated

oh right, dont think ill be here my entire life to be honest, the culture here is just a bit different to most places for some reason, man i shout every time i see a fixed gear haha!
53-12 is pretty rad i mean they named them self after a gear ratio, but there perfectionists in there like make everything run perfectly whereas colchester cycles (opposite wilkinsons) i use when i need my dirt jump bike fixed, dont know why i use two different shops but hey.
that sounds brilliant! il end up going in there and make him do something wrong just to see him slap himself!
