The trouble I found with 10 speed campag square tapers is they're hard to find in compact. I scoured high and low for mine, took a few months, and I paid quite a lot for them.
Chorus/Record series from 2004 had a compact variant, and there was also a ATB (mountain bike parts, when Campagnolo did them) set that had compact BCD on square taper.
If, on the other hand, you're ok with a 39 inner ring, you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever :)
As far as I recall, Shimano and SRAM were the interchangeables, and Campagnolo plays differently, but you should check that with someone who knows better than I do!

thanks @withered_preacher and @mdcc_tester - good points both.

Need a professional mechanic to look over my Look KG171 (late 90s carbon) with 2004 Campagnolo components - any suggestions?
Cutting a long story short, I dropped a door on it (yes, you read that right). It landed at an angle which bent the handlebars and put a hole in my wall on the other side. My inspection of the bike suggests the handlebars took the brunt and passed the impact through to the wall, which crumpled appropriately... but for obvious reasons I'd like to check if any damage was done to any other components (primarily the carbon frame, carbon fork, and shifters).
I usually use Full City or LMNH for my SS maintenance, but not sure if they'll be the right peeps for this, given the older parts and the nature of the issue?
Suggestions?

Who would've thought it... S-1 actually happened.
Thankfully not to the bikes yet, but to some old wheels I have lying around (not sure why).
Yours if you want them, but you have to pick up from Waterloo SE1 this or next week. If you take the lot (they're sitting packed in a wheel box for easy removal), I'll find a couple bottles of beer for you too.
GONE 1) Classic rear wheel - old school Weinmann rim on Shimano 600 hub. Fitted with a 7-speed TA Specialities cassette. 99% true, with a tiny wiggle which probably just needs one spoke tightened (I'm not savvy enough to try!). Bought from retrobike for £30, rode around for a bit, time to let it go. (Was listed for sale before, now just need it gone)
2) Beater old Cosmic Elite, with worn track. Sold to me on this forum by @scilly.suffolk but I never used it. Only wanted the power meter he was selling, but he insisted on sending the wheel along. Now just need it gone.
GONE 3) Pair of 700x23c red nylon tyres that came with a fixie wheelset. Took them right off for comfier 28c rubber. Very little use, and treads still good. You guessed it - need them gone.

subbed - that's a beautiful frame! i also lol'd at this:
Was looking for a nice old steel lugged frame on ebay... ended up buying a mildly silly old carbon lugged frame instead :s
That was exactly me last year (see -> https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/289135/ ) so great to see someone else fall for the beauty of a classic Look.
I have a few parts floating around from that build I could dig up for you if you're interested. specifically quill and seatpost - I had the Look Ergopost but didn't want setback, and bought a Thomson in-line instead (you might want to check them out, they do 25mm seatposts setback and inline).
Great to see that saddle living up to its potential! Also love the 10sp Record carbon groupset, I have the same on mine!
