Yep I think so, as long as the 3 allen bolts holding the element to the boiler ring are tight, there shouldn't be any leaks (assuming the brass ring isn't basically hanging off!).
I think the issue I'm facing is that the spacers (parts 4 & 6 in the diagram) aren't thick enough, likely just getting compressed over time. So while the element is tight to the boiler, the whole assembly isn't as tight to the base as it should be. With the original spacers, I ended up having to bend the p-stat pipe a fair bit as the spacers were presumably getting squashed over time, so the boiler ring had to be tightened to accommodate. I do have one of those little oil filter wrenches and it did work pretty well.
Might give it another tighten this afternoon and see how much is needed, haven't touched it in maybe 6-9 months at this point.

Then I found out the base was loose (not sure how, its been sat in the garage for the best part of a year) I fitted the lock ring last year when I first built it.
This has been a constantly occurring thing for me, can only assume it's the boiler spacer/gasket (https://espressocare.com/products/boiler-spacer-europiccola), that's compressed over time and therefore loosened a bit.
I've not been great about re-tightening it, and I can turn the boiler using the lever pretty easily. But it's not a leak-risk so I tend not to bother. Not helped by the process of tightening the boiler flange being a pain. If I had a proper little workshop I'd absolutely make one of those little grouphead mounts for a vice and use that. But alas that's not the case.
Though this sort of thing seems like overkill: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKu0qmFurrA

I've got one, definitely not something I'd use everyday. But for a while I did get into the habit of making one on a weekend morning.
The cloth filters are a faff to keep clean and fresh, there are paper options which are also pretty decent though.
For me, the main downside was always that it took so long to cool down. I think I'd normally brew 500ml or so, and because it's kept in a little spherical brewing chamber with a pretty small hole at the top, it stays very hot for a long time.
Probably an odd thing to complain about, but I recall that being the thing I disliked most about it.
Looks damn awesome though. Feel free to fire over any questions about them you might have.
This is the one I've got: https://www.hario.co.uk/products/hario-coffee-syphon-technica-5-cup
Though it was definitely at a much lower price when I bought it. And those alcohol burners aren't great, you'd want a butane burner like this: https://www.espressoparts.com/products/butane-burner-for-tabletop-siphons

Is the pouring into another jug necessary/contributes to incorporation of microfoam?
I've only found this useful when making milk for multiple drinks and while pouring one (using milk that's been decanted into a smaller pitcher), the froth in the original pitcher's milk has started to separate.
I guess if you steam milk first then pull the shot you might find yourself in a similar circumstance.

I had to switch my Europiccola from a 3-hole to a 1-hole as I didn't find it to provide enough pressure. But I can honestly say that I can get microfoam from my Europiccola at a quality that I could get with any of the commercial machines I've worked with.
Never had any issues with 3-hole tips (aside from the fact that they were what I was using when first using a coffee machine, so there's always a learning period there). Normally tried to hold it roughly at a tangent to the pitcher (but not so close to the edge that the steam is just hitting it directly). Angle of the pitcher is more for ergonomics that optimising movement of the milk for me.

I stupidly ruined my element (think I basically burnt off the seals after inadvertently starting it dry after a service).
Popping a new element in there was pretty straightforward though! Was €45, so not too bad all things considered (though you'll likely be replacing o-rings and picking up some sealant for the p-stat when replacing it, so that'll add a bit to the total cost)

I imagine if you plug it into your phone and open up the default voice recorder/memo app, it'd just be like recording using the mic in a standard set of wired phone earbuds. Not sure how sensitive they'd be as I've never used them myself, they normally are plugged into a field recorder or similar, so you might struggle to pick up the sound without an amp or something. But if you plug them in, record and give them a good tap you should be able to tell.
But with a standard 3.5mm connector and adhesive pads, I'd be amazed if they were something else.
Edit: Beaten to it

I wouldn't say so, I started my kid on Minecraft when she was 4 (again, playing together with her on it). And she'd be sitting watching me play Kerbal Space Program since she was 3.
She's 7 now and one of my favourite things about it is how much reading practice she's getting. Mainly through the Zelda & Mario games with subtitles, and recently Animal Crossing.

I'd agree with the points that @youClown made, but really the only way is to do a proper test.
Maybe split the bag into bag & jar, and either have one of each each day, or alternate on which you use each day?
I was tempted!
