Got a Langster 56 that's been sat unused since April'ish. No riser but sorted for commuting (rack and race blades). Open Pro/Novatec wheels, 105 calipers.
I advertised it last summer https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/324580/ at £300 but it didn't sell so I used it throughout winter again. I replaced the BB with an FSA RPM and rebuilt the rear wheel. I'm more open to offers now.

@JamesQGM - I know your advice is good but it's hard not to get caught up in weight-weenie-ism :)
The only real issue is whether to rejig drive chain for a lower gear (130bcd is somewhat limiting). The alternative is just to use my geared Arkose (10kg beefy disc).
being shouted at by strangers just before you’re sick on yourself
I am looking forward to it already :)
Anyway I am at risk of going off topic. Time for a separate UHC2018 thread I think.

@dbr - nope I am nearly clueless, just good at sounding like I know what I'm doing :)
Enjoy Mallorca.

@stroller - Langster would be fixed but new frame would be geared (possibly Cube Litening from bike-discount.de).
I have never ridden Swain's itself (only parallel climbs) so unsure of gearing. Am in the peak district this weekend but will do a recce one evening next week. Currently planning 38x19 but that sounds quite hardcore considering I'd be in 34x28 for parts if spinning.

I think it's the 2009 model but can't remember for sure and don't have the original receipt. Frame itself is ratty but otherwise bike is excellent:
- Mavic Open Pro on Novatec A265SBT/A266SBT small flange hubs laced with ACI Alpina F1 black spokes. [New January 2018]
- Halo clickster freewheel [New in February 2018]
- 105 brakes [old]
- Token TK866CM hollow axle / carbon body [New in October 2017]
- Continental GP 4S 28mm [New in September 2017]
- Race blade mudguards [ratty, epoxy'd mount to guards to stop rattles and slippage over time; possibly won't fit any other bike]
- Tubus fly rack [seat stay arms have been cut down to match bike and save weight :) ]
- FSA Ultragel bar tape [New January 2018]
- Frame is properly etched with BikeRegister #. (Obviously I'll transfer to buyer).
Rest of the bike is stock (rival 143 saddle, 100mm stem).
Spares incldued:
- 2 pairs of new 105 pads
- New 44T chain ring (still in pack, never opened)
- 31 spare spokes for the rear! (Back story: I snapped a spoke and came to the conclusion I had under-tensioned the whole wheel so was considering a full rebuild as a precaution. However, in the end I only replaced the broken one and used the Park tension meter to get the right tension in the whole wheel)
Bad points:
- Frame is scruffy. In particular:
(a) Race blades have cut through the paint on the rear stays.
(b) Lacquer is coming off forks at the top/backside.
(c) Seat tube is badly scuffed from where I mounted my D-lock. - The 105 calipers have lost some of their springiness. To compensate I put a new slick brake cable/outer on when I changed the bar tape and also wrapped the end of the caliper spring with tape to increase the tension slightly. Also the Race blades have also worn off the 105 logo at the rear.
£300 ono.
No pedals.
I would much prefer collection in person. I live in east London and ride into the city daily- anywhere like that is fine. However, bike is currently at my parents in east Birmingham and I go back regularly.
This was my commuter/run around for years but barely used since summer arrived.

As title. Photo link https://pasteboard.co/H7OY3zw.jpg if embed does not work.
Only taken out of packet to fondle (eventually it became clear I don't have the legs for 50x16 so it never got fitted).
£30ono.
Collection preferred (east or central London).

Hello,
FS- stock front wheel from ~2009 Langster. Black medium depth rim. Black spokes. Black large flange hub. Unknown manufacturer.
Rim braking surface is worn below wear indicator.
Hub bearings badly worn. More detail: ball bearings were replaced with decent Shimano ones in 2015 but it was too late and the races were already ruined. Now they are worn unevenly and either there are tight spots or loose spots, despite my best efforts at adjusting them. They've had no adjustment in last year and have play all the way round.
Covered in London grime.
Basically this wheel is near EOL. It has a few salvageable parts and I would keep it as an emergency spare (you never know when someone will steal your wheel :() but don't have space. I took the rim tape for my new wheel build.

£5 o.n.o. (i.e. if you're genuinely skint you can have it for free)
Collection only
[Apologies if it is considered uncouth for new members to post FS adverts, but it does not appear to be against the rules at https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/143848/#comment6571218]

Hi @FranktheBouncer @holistic13 @Huggybear - sorry I disappeared.
Bike is still buried in my parent's shed! I was planning to dig it out put the new chain and ring on but it'll be a few weeks before I can go back. So I guess it depends how urgently you want it. (Possibly my parents could box it but I'd have to give you the spares separately)
