I had one of the lights, but because I was surrounded by a pool of light, I wasn't aware of cars driving up behind me, as their headlights blended into the pool. That was a bit off putting for me

I've recently switched to a DE razor and shaving soap after years of cartridge razors and gel.
Wish I had done it sooner! Thanks to @lookitsluke for recommending the Muhle Aloe Vera.

Does anyone use a pre shave oil before lathering with soap/cream? Does it make much difference?

When I’ve looked into this a couple of times over the years, two different bike shops said we’ll have to charge you full RRP if buying through a cycle to work scheme. Said you can’t have it both ways and get two discounts.
I was told the same thing again recently, but then the owner’s son chirped up that the fee the shop has to pay to Cyclescheme is capped at £250, so they agreed to just add £250 to the discounted price.
I was so lucky he happened to be there, or I would have just accepted what I’d been told previously.

I couldn't give an opinion here- I only suggested these as Nick specifically asked for padded underwear. I prefer them without the padding and bought some Rapha merino ones in a sale a while back and they have lasted ok.

I do prefer non padded myself, but have plenty of other Vulpine gear that is good quality and well made.
