Yeah I’m going on feel, plenty of trail running. I can run up hill without pain so been going full gas up the hills and jog walking down. I’ve taken 30 seconds off some Lyme park strava segments.
3:14 is decent in this heat, I ran gently yesterday and today and still felt hungover type dehydration without drinking alcohol.

They are trying to remove some modal filters in Levenshulme/ Burnage. They were successful in Withington and a rival petition has 300+ signitures. If you cycle through the area or live here please sign.

Thanks for the advice, everyone.
@Tenderloin I was tempted by a compeed but hadn't thought about how annoying it would be if it came off or unseated so will probably give it a miss.
@Alf0nse I like the idea of vaseline, I'll give that a go later in the week with the thinner socks. I'm tempted to start wearing them around the house with different combinations of sock/ vaseline etc
@pifko brand new and not sure it would work in the little toe area, I've already destroyed a pair of alphafly 1removing the inner soles trying to make them more comfortable, I only partly succeeded there!

Any blister experts? Deep into maranoia and did my last "session" yesterday in my new metaspeeds. I tried some thicker socks and it's created a slight hot spot on the outside of the little toes. I always assumed thicker socks would provide more padding and less likely to cause a blister.
I will revert back to thinner socks for marathon but should I go belt and braces and use a toe protector or some sort of plaster or could this have knock on affects?

I think I'll have a heavy weekend but split it over the 2 days, something a bit faster on the sat and long/ easy on the Sunday as away in south wales and its not too flat.
I tried on the new Metaspeed after the half yesterday and they felt nice with the added bonus of not rubbing where the alphas did, they are out on Weds so I will have enough time to put some miles in before the big day.
Nailed my day before nutrition now, I managed a long run without needing a shit for the first time in ages yesterday.

I enjoyed it, took it pretty steady. I was going to tag on some at the end but my damn alphaflys are causing some pain on a bone on the inside of my foot so thought I’d call it a day. I’ve decided a new pair of super shoes is the only solution.
1:36, was a bit quicker than potential MP for a 3:15, I felt it in the second half; I might have to dial back expectations to 3:20ish.
My biggest fear is my longest run 5 weeks prior to marathon, is it too big a gap?

Your Wilmslow half marathon session does sound tempting! I quite fancy racing it so the marathon pace feels easier on race day. Maybe I'll do a 5km warm up and 5km cool down and run the 1/2 marathon faster than MP but not PB pace.
The pace threshold drop is comparing a tapered Barcelona half with a 10 mile easy, 10 mile MP 20 miler on tired legs so probably not a great comparison. I'm hoping a lighter week and Poynton 10km will freshen me up a bit.

I’m going to try and sharpen up again over the next few weeks, I have poynton 10km then wilmslow half and a few track sessions in between. Training peaks estimates my pace threshold has dropped from 7:20 to 8 mins a mile in a months which is a bit of a head fuck.
My main worry is I’ve peaked mileage a bit too soon (Manchester marathon) so might tag an easy 10km after the wilmslow half, marathon training is a mental battle as well as physical!
Alarmingly cheap!
I’d be open to trying though.
