Do any of you participate in any bicycle cooperatives in London? A place where you can bring your bike and have access to communal tools/knowledge, maybe just hang out and help other people with theirs.

I am specially interested in finding one in the South West of London.

Where could I ask in this forum to make sure about having it as a project bike? I am not switching my Peugeot into a single speed because french bikes are notorious for having some odd parts backwards or just different.

New around here.

I have been riding a Peugeot UO8 ('73) for the last 3 years and after realizing I never use the gears since I moved to London, I want to do the jump to a single speed or fixed. I don't want to change the Peugeot, named Nadia, since all parts are the original except the brake levers.

Anybody has a recommendation on shops with second hand bikes where I can scavenge a good frame for a new build? Also checking the classifieds here.
