Decided to have a go at refurbing the dead shifters. I thought I'd separated all the internals for right and left. I had. Just not correctly. Much head scratching but I probably leant more for doing it wrong a few times. Seems to shift okay in the hand. Fingers crossed.

A lot of Opticians have access to a sports catalogue. The cheaper high street options tend to fall into two camps, those with a glazeable insert behind a tinted shield, and those with a wrap and sports adjacent styling but smaller lenses. There are sound reasons for this optically. To get past these limitations you often have to pay more or head on-line

How cycling orientated do you want though? I had a fairly standard frame made with polycarbonate and photochromic lenses.

@hippy, as a mildly hyperopic presbyope (guessing), you are one of the most familiar dispensing challenges. There's no one answer. I would request a new sight test and be VERY clear with the Optometrist about your thoughts prior to the test. Spectacles are a tool to meet you visual needs. The more those needs are understood the more chance there is of them being met. A prescription is not absolute. Knowing the desired spectacle outcome (and history) can influence the decision over what to prescribe.

Incidentally, General Optical Council figures suggest an average dissatisfaction rate of 11% for glasses purchased at the prescribing practice, rising to 28% for those purchased elsewhere.

Tweeks. Carbon railed saddle, back to the original fork, black headset spacers... Headset what? Spa.. wait a minute... 1 inch Chris King in PINK! For JLT before JLT vibes. Weirdly supplied with a 1 1/8 topcap, so a bit of fettling still required.

Coming after Christmas: black bar tape, black tyres, black bottle. Probably.

I wondered that too. Has other listings for far less desirable titanium bikes, at about the same price. Bit weird.

Websites that list their products by name without a picture or description until you follow the link to view that one product. As though you are already familiar with a company's entire range and only want to view the product you came to see.

I bought a 1in ahead CK HS, the cups are 30.2mm, as expected, but the topcap is exactly the same diameter as my existing CK 1 1/8th topcap and doesn't fit my current 1in spacers.

Is this std, or do I have a composite?

A few years ago I removed what I thought was a childproof grill to find a set of these jammed into a tweeter.

Same child was responsible for sticking a bread knife into a sofa arm and... actually, this could be quite the digression.

Sorry, I was being a bit dense re. the strategically placed cough. I blame the anaesthetic. I seem to have forgotten a load of people's names too...

I probably liked it most with drop bars, and black tape, stem and post, but there was just too much overlap with my Cannondale and Surly and I needed to move parts around for other bikes. So began the aesthetic wilderness of function over form. The braking is way better now than with the travel agents.

I'm waiting on decals and grips, then we'll see about zhuzh.

Maybe. I mean it won't ever, but maybe. I'm okay with the catalogue correct m750s for now. I never really liked any of the m750 groupset, but I got the wheels super cheap for one of the kids bikes. I was bored building bikes with components I liked and it's been more of a challenge to make an appealing whole with ones I don't. Way cheaper too. Bonus pic.
