It doesn't recline.
I always felt strange about the idea of a reclining child seat.
I chose this one as it was the safest I could find as it includes the wraparound bit by the head.I also found very useful the two points of release from the bike. Either from the frame mount qr (removing the whole seat plus frame) or from just below the seat (leaving the frame on the bike.
