Stunning frame, luckily it's not slightly bigger otherwise I'd probably have yet another project.
There are some stunning bargains to be had on rim brake steel frames just now.The cable guides are probably for bar-end shifters, they have been around a long time, I had a late thirties French touring bike with them.
They have been in and out of fashion ever since, including on "racing" bikes.Best of Luck with the sale.
May be worth trying on Retrobike if no luck here. -
I have also bought one,but won't have time to do anything with it until next year.Looking forward to see what you do with yours.
I've been skip diving lots of timber and even some railway sleepers for a base and door frame.seems like proper door frames in each end really improves their stability.
Lots of YouTube videos with hints and tips and how to improve them.
This looks a good one.https://youtu.be/mhFEMP0xLSs?si=jJVoXjU_2iIxOMAy
Good luck with it.

I have a similarly modified Dawes Kingpin ,in some ways they are a better starting point so you avoid Raleigh's proprietary 26 TPI threads.
I added a "top tube" to mine, but I am a bit of a lard arse.
Should do a project thread when I get time.....
In answer to your question they ride surprisingly well, while also being more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
If you need anymore convincing Sheldon Brown was a big fan.

Everyone should at least try one.
