@Peter_Carter I know the area pretty well but thanks for the pointers. Think we had a period of around 90 minutes yesterday seeing no one else and no cars. Was heavenly.

@iltmimi yeah been on DC page trying to figure out what the deal is with different pedal sizes. They have a large and a small and took a while to figure out what it referred to. What about the stages crank based system? It would be easily switched over and requires little calibration I assume?

@hippy nice work and thanks for helping sort out the crazy bearded guy on the TREK. Never seen someone so happy when told they are going to be riding a 600.

Has anyone any mortgage advice? I'm looking to buy a house in Ireland for my sister to live in. Its my first buy and is simply a stop gap as she is self employed and can't get a mortgage. Once she has the ability to buy the house I will sell it back to her at whatever I have spent. Do I need to go for a buy to let mortgage and are there tax implications to consider?

On the audax ride style front I prefer the ride hard between controls and break for a long time but have massive respect for the seasoned guys who can just knock out a steady pace all day with minimum stops.
Rode the Asparagus & Strawberrys 400 yesterday which was fantastic and was topped off with a 3am McD's in Colchester (which almost didn't serve me because I was using the drive through on a bike) and a hairy ride home along the A12.
Was also nice to meet Steve Abraham at the start line.
