I weigh myself at similar time in the day a couple of times a week using Tanita scales.
They're varying in measures by up to 2kg every time. The difference is always a similar + or - 2kg on overall mass and muscle mass, with the remainder (fat mass) always more or less the same.
This has been happening for around a month and i didnt use to get so much variation
Are my scales f'd or is this normal?

Hello folks. I have reluctantly entered the 21st century and got myself my first iphone.
I'm trying to run the 'Move to ios' app on my old android to transfer all my numbers and junk to the new phone. Whenever i try to run the transfer, I always get this message however:
'The transfer was interruputed. Do not switch on other apps or turn off this device until the transfer is complete'.I'm not doing anything to interrupt the connection; as far as i can tell my wifi is stable and i'm not faffing with either phone whilst they communicate.
Anyone able to help? It's pissing me right off

I find the HRV topic pretty interesting along with using HR to indicate fatigue etc.
I used to be in the habit of checking my HR every morning a few months ago when i was training loads, but have got out of the habit now. I occasionally toy with the idea of getting a fitbit or somethin but then CBA... rather use the money for something else

@villa-ru
Bakexit is a ruddy travesty. It'll never be the same. C4 will probably get that twat Simon Rimmer involved -

@apc as @theukr refers to, i used to get DOMs when i first started riding harder and longer (i.e., 'training') rather than just using a bike as transport.
i sometimes notice more of an ache in the legs if i didn't eat well during or after a ride, so consider that. and try some stretching

Thanks @Smallfurry and @Greenbank
I knew the pointless recovery checker at the start of a workout (the one that ALWAYS says 'good' even when i feel like a dead man walking) was based on HRV, didn't realise it was for the post-workout one too

Probably been covered before, so apolz:
How does the recovery time estimate on the garmin actually work? is it based on time in HR zone? I know it's best taken with a pinch of salt but interested nonetheless.
I was quite satisfied to get a '50 hour' time this morning after a 50 min turbo session. 1 hour per minute. my HR was through the roof however.

My mate is the club tt Secretary so not too worried about that 😁 . But good point.
@Sam great course nerdism, thank you. Def get onto Google maps... Know your enemy etc
-
yep i do. and that's more or less what i was going to do really!
@hippy i'll start practicing in the mirror. can i send a pic for your feedback and analysis?

Anyone who knows me will laugh at this, but I've decided to try some TTs. I've just completed the 'A Race' of my season and want something a bit different to focus on for a bit.
So i've entered the Epsom CC 25 mile TT in late sept.
I'll be doing it on a road bike and know i won't get a good time, but want to give it a crack and see how hard i can push myself.
I know nothing about the world of TTs. Any insight and tips for a n00b? Am going to try some sessions on the turbo working out roughly what power i should be aiming for on the day. What kinda stuff would it be useful for me to know and do in advance?
ta!

@umop3pisdn
Whenever i do a fasted ride it's super easy indoors, and it leaves me ravenous through the rest of the day and it makes me question the point. But taht's me.You probably need to take the intensity down a bit - if you push too hard you'll burn your wuvvly muscles and not fat
-
-
@skinny, how were you recovering day to day?
How were you getting any decent food when you had a break, and how did you manage all the general leg-destruction without being able to stretch / roller etc?
I presume just epic HTFU?
-
Wow. Kudos to you, i followed you and @hippy with interest and was constantly blown away by the effort required.

It's always a little inevitable that CTL is going to drop a bit over autumn / winter anyway, surely? Not able to ride so much + maybe riding at less intensity?
And you can't have that line going up forever or you're not really going to start increasing in spring when you want to be smashing it.
But all of that may be wrong.
